Gallery Calapooia — Attraction in Albany

GC is a non-profit, collective coop of approximately 20 talented artists who work in 2-D (oil, water colors, cut paper, vinyl, photography, etc.) and 3-D (jewelry, glass, fiber, wood) formats. The setting is in an historic building in downtown Albany, with brick walls and high ceilings, providing a beautiful backdrop for the art. The first Friday of each month the gallery hosts a reception from 6-8 PM, featuring 2 artists from the coop, or occasionally guest artists from the area, giving art enthusiasts of all ages a chance to not only view the art, but also to meet the artists...

I went there for my Birthday,was with all my friends, I heard you can get small samples of their special brews..I went up and asked the mature looking lady for a platter of various wings. She looked like she might say yes than told me ummmmmmm no! I was embarrassed,mind you I hadn't ordered a drink ...so I know I wasn't rude..I quietly left my Birthday party...told my friends I had to leave. ..I've never gone back.. I was so embarrassed in front of my friends. I know they were not out of product..there was no "sorry we are fresh out" just a ummmmmm no!stars...

This was a neat little Gallery. It had art from lots of different mediums and many different artists. The gal working there was chatty and informative about the artists and the gallery and the area, as we were visiting from out of town. Lots of unique items available for purchase from inexpensive to not so much. We purchased...
