Jordan Jewelers — Local services in Albany

This review should have been written three years ago and I am sorry for that but it's a good review so better late than never. My husband and I got married a little over 3 years ago, it's a second marriage for both of us so we wanted to do it right and starting it right was with two rings from a Reputable Jeweler. This is where Jordan Jewelers came into the picture. We were referred to Jordan's by a co-worker, Brad Jordan had done some business at our place of employment and the co-worker thought very highly of Brad Jordan. We were greeted with a smile and a great local feel, come to find out, Jordan Jewelers has several family members that work there, everyone that we have come in contact with over the last three years have been super friendly (family or not). With all that said, I will get to the product or should I say products (my husband has since bought two pairs of earrings for me for special occasions and we did buy his wedding ring there also). My wedding ring was actually labeled an "Anniversary" ring but I did not care, I loved(love) it. It is a blue sapphire with diamonds and not only do I love it, I receive many, many, whole hearted compliments on it. I am not gentle with it either, I do everything while wearing it and it truly has stood up to many daily tasks and tests. The two pair of earrings that my husband has purchased at Jordan's have been beautiful, quality, earrings and his wedding ring has really held up well. I have zero complaints and many compliments about Jordan Jewelers and their Jewelry and will continue to do business with them as long as we can afford it and they are in business. If you want personal, friendly, knowledgeable, stand behind their product service, then Jordan Jewelers is the place you want to go to. I have a watch that was jumping in ~5 second intervals, but it was keeping perfect time. This had happened once before when it needed a new battery, and I was walking by Jordan and decided to pop in and get a new battery for the watch. The lady was friendly and took the watch to a desk and opened it up while I milled around looking at the rings and other stuff. After a few minutes, she came back and said, "the problem is not the battery. you need to take it to a repair shop." I looked at my watch and it was no longer moving at all. I was kind of at a loss for words. I brought my watch in a working state (keeping time), but with a problem that seemed minor and routine. Jordan gave my watch back completely inoperative. Maybe there was a grave problem and failure was imminent. Maybe something was damaged in the opening and attempted replacement of the battery. There's no way for me to know for sure either way, and it was intensely frustrating. If I owned that business, and a working watch came in, I would give it back in the same working condition or I would offer to help get it checked to see what the problem is.

Ultimately, it's unclear whether there was a problem with Jordan's handling of my watch, but the uncertainty of the situation and the casual "not our problem" conclusion was...

The man who raised me passed away just under 3 years ago.. the only thing I have from him is an alexandrite ring that I helped him pick out for my mom as a young child (all while telling him it was going to be my ring one day 😅). As you can imagine I was DEVASTATED when the band of my ring bent (not horribly, but still noticeable). I came in to Jordan jewelers with my two young kids prepared to spend whatever it took to fix my ring and not only were they welcoming to my very inquisitive 4 year old.. but my ring (that wasn’t even purchased through them) got fixed and cleaned within minutes for free! I tried to give them at least something for their time and was told it was their pleasure ❤️ I already have a custom ring quote in the works (that by the way, they were totally open and supportive of me not wanting to purchase real diamonds and are also are searching for a similar ring to what I want that is already on the market to save me money).
