This was my first visit to Regal Winrock and it was extremely disappointing, especially since it cost so very much. I won't be returning to this theater.
There was no one manning the box office counter, which consists of self serve screens that didn't respond well to touch, so if you have any issues purchasing tickets you have to go hunt down an employee to help.
The concession stand doesn't have prices listed on the combos - apparently you only save $1 by buying it that way and the cost of a single person combo was absurd. My popcorn tasted stale & very dry, didn't have enough salt, and asking for butter resulted in a small amount being added just to the top. There is no self serve here and it wasn't clear if refills were free.
Once we got into the theater (#4) we couldn't believe how uncomfortable the seats were. There is no way to recline and no footrests. You can push against the back of your seat but it just bounces back to upright. It felt like sitting in an office chair!
There was half an hour of ads and previews, 20 minutes of which were after the movie start time. That's a ridiculous amount of commercials, many of which were literally advertisements for non-movie related things and not previews.
Now for the worst part... The viewing quality at this theater was the worst I have ever seen! There was this sparkly glare that was very distracting, as though the screen surface was damaged or the window that the film is projected through was dirty. The film was out of focus the entire time, so badly that it was hard to watch and gave me a headache. I've seen clearer movies projected onto the side of a building with amateur equipment before!
I wanted to walk out, complain and get a refund, but the person I was with begged me to not make a scene and just suffer through the rest of the movie. I rarely go to the theater and was really looking forward to seeing what we went there for, but the bad experience ruined it for me.
I cannot recommend Regal Winrock under any circumstances. It was a total ripoff... There are much more affordable theaters in ABQ with better picture, more comfortable seating, and free refills on popcorn and soda that doesn't cost an...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting the Winrock regal theater, and I can confidently say that it was one of the best movie-going experiences I’ve ever had—all thanks to the outstanding leadership and service of the theater’s manager, Tom. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that Tom takes immense pride in ensuring every guest has a seamless, enjoyable, and memorable experience.
Tom embodies everything a perfect manager should be: professional, attentive, and genuinely passionate about customer satisfaction. When I had a minor issue with my ticket, Tom handled it with incredible efficiency and a warm, welcoming attitude. He not only resolved the situation immediately but also went above and beyond to make sure I felt valued as a guest. His exceptional communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and positive energy truly set the tone for the entire theater.
Beyond that, I noticed how Tom interacted with both his staff and other guests—he was consistently proactive, ensuring everything ran smoothly while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor. His attention to detail was impeccable, from making sure the theater was spotless to checking that concessions were fully stocked and lines moved efficiently.
It’s rare to come across someone who genuinely cares about their job as much as Tom does. He turned what could have been a simple crisp morning at the movies into an experience I’ll remember for a long time. His dedication and hard work deserve all the recognition in the world, and I sincerely hope the theater appreciates what a gem they have in him.
If you’re looking for a top-tier movie experience where customer service is prioritized, I highly recommend visiting the Winrock Regal movie theater and if you’re lucky, you’ll get to see firsthand the incredible work...
Read moreWent for first time since over a year ago, and the fact is, it will be at least that long before I return to this theatre, which is a shame as its so close to our residence. Movies for my family of 4 (wife + 2 daughters) is never cheap, especially when checking out from concessions, so I'm not being a cheapskate with buyers remorse, but rather a knowledgeable patron and small business owner who understands the need to provide a quality product for any consumers hard earned money. 2 - ten dollar sodas and 2 - ten dollar Icees were not disbursed correctly from taps and were flat, ice melted extremely quick and further dilluted the beverage as the theatre was HOT. My kids didn't finish their drinks and upon eating the top of our large popcorn, discovered a hidden "burnt" section, which for me is a forfeit of the bucket as I cant stand the smell taste or texture of blackened popcorn. The theatre was empty which tells me that word has gotten around about the inadequacies of the concessions, the lack of a functional air conditioner ( or ) the non use for sake of lowering operational costs taking precedent over keeping a comfortable temperature. Also noted the staff seemed up to par with what appeared to be adequate numbers and those whoom I interacted with were very polite and helpful but did not work with any urgency and talked more then they moved. These are very fixable issues meanwhile the requisite cost of attendance is not being reciprocated with a quality venue. Unprecedented times have strained our budget to the limit, therefore the goods/services we invest in for the sake of having fun must be of the utmost...
