UPDATE: We went to Red Robin, same location as the one of my original post. Overall the staff were pretty good. Unfortunately, when I ordered my burger, I made it a point to tell them that I absolutely could not have onions or anything with cilantro. When my food was delivered, it has some sort of salsa on it that had cilantro and tons of onions. Like last time, our server disappeared. Because I'm allergic to cilantro and onions, I couldn't even take a bite. My fiancee finished his entire meal by the time anyone decided to come check on us, despite efforts to flag anyone down. When my fiancee noticed that I hadn't touched the burger, he personally got up and told the hostesses about the problem. A manager came over with the server and the excuse given was that he didn't even "think about the onions in the salsa." Seriously?? This was strike two. We will not be going back to Red Robin. Their service is so bad that if we want any kind of decent service (and food to order) we're better off just staying home.
Overall, the service was pretty good. The service was quick when initially checking in. We needed a few minutes to look at the menu so we placed the drink order our server was on top of our needs and the turnaround was awesome. The only issue I had was that once the food came, we were checked on only once. After a few bites of my burger, I noticed that it was way pinker than what well done should ever be. I had to force myself to eat because our server never checked back in with us and the drink server would come by when our mouths were full so I never had opportunity to ask for the server. I finally put the burger down and when it was time to settle the bill, we let the drink runner know that my burger was not well done and because of time, and not seeing our server, we couldn't bring it to his attention sooner. The manager was awesome, our server was awesome, the staff in general were fantastic! My only real issue was the doneness of the burger. Otherwise, I believe that we...
Read moreLet me paint the scene. We were visiting family in Albuquerque and decided to grab a bite to eat before returning home. There were 4 adults, 2 kids, and 2 toddlers equalling 8 people total. We called ahead to see if it will be ok to be seated together. The person on the phone hesitated but then said it could be done so we made the reservation. We get there and we are seated together. When the waitress leaves after taking our drink and appetizer orders the Manager comes up. He then explains we have a problem cause there are more than 6 of us. There can't be more than 6, including toddlers, due to state mandate. I understand the manager was doing his job and protecting his business. He even said he will take our appetizers off the bill. We told him we understood and moved tables to the other end. We put the kids on their table and had the adults and one toddler at the other. We ordered our meals and received our appetizers and life was good. Then service started to slip. Glasses for our table went empty. Our server came multiple times and didn't refill our drinks. We looked around and the whole area didn't have drinks. It was about 15-30 min of empty glasses. We finally received our food and everything was cold except for my sister in laws fish. The cheese sauce on my son's Mac and Cheese was stating to glaze some. My brother in laws meal was completely wrong. By the time we were done, we were pretty frustrated. We received our bills and the appetizers were still on! We told our waiter they needed to be taken off and he froze for a second. Not the service or food quality Red Robin is known for. I understand with this pandemic things have been a little crazy but I feel like the staff needs to work on their communication and ensure the guests are being...
Read moreI just got home and I'm a little irritated at this Red Robin as I write this review. We got there on a Friday night around 9:30 (they close at 11). The restaurant wasn't that packed. We had about 4 other tables besides ours in our section and 1 server for the entire section. The service started out good especially considering the server had the other tables but it was slow to get drink refills (understandable). By the middle of our meal two tables had left but we were not offered a bottomless fries refill yet. In fact, we weren't offered a refill until the end of our meal. I finished my meal and ordered a refill of bottomless fries and it took forever, so much so that the server came and asked if they had arrived and even went to the back to grab them himself saying "sometimes you gotta do things yourself." I finished those and was waiting for him to come back because we hadn't eaten all day and came for the bottomless fries (they're small portions so...). We all but given up and was about to auto pay when he came back. I told him I wanted one more order of bottomless fries and he put it in. As I waited I paid and gave him a 20% tip. We're loyalty rewards members and got $6.50 off our bill but I tipped 20% of what the bill was before the discount. I even lied on the survey and said we had good, prompt service. We sat there and waited...and waited but the fries never came and he never came back to check on us. At the end we felt like idiots and like we were eating separate meals because it took so long. We just got up and left. I've never had such slow service at RR before and won't go back to this location. The Pan American location has always been good to us so that's where we'll go...
