I had't been to the Hiland Theater in 35+ years. Used to go as a kiddo to watch Disney movies; or with my Catholic school to watch Jesus/God movies such as The Ten Commandments, The Robe, Ben Hur. Recently had the opportunity to see the Peace on Earth Concert (wonderful!). The renovation is wonderful (but I miss the curving walkway to the mezzanine). I applaud the Gorham Family (an old ABQ Family like mine) for sponsoring the renovaton. Acoustics were fabulous. The reason for the 4 rating and not a 5...they should have had 'the help bars' in tne center of the aisles all the way up from the floor (row A, to whatever the last row at the top). I was in row L, and the help bars stop about 5-6 rows before L. Due to recent surgery, I needed just an arm to help me. So many wonderful people before the concert and afterwards helped me. I coulda sworn that was required by the ADA, even if the building is old, but they do have disabled seating on the main floor. I just didn't get a choice for my concert where I sat.
