I had been meaning to check out this distillery for awhile and went in last night with a friend. It’s a beautiful space with exposed brick and huge windows looking out on Central and into the room where it seems the distilling magic happens. Our super friendly server immediately brought us water and talked about the different cocktail offerings and we ordered a couple of Manhattans. Our drinks arrived in lovely martini glasses adorned with gorgeous metal skewers with a fat Luxardo cherry balanced on the glass. The drinks themselves were well balanced and smooth. We also tried their old fashioned, which was equally delicious.
The owner, Nick, stopped by and we chatted with him for a long time, learning about the expansion plans for his business and learning about all the people we have in common (ABQ really is 6 degrees of separation!). He also introduced us to his wife and son, who also helps to run the business, as well as some other regulars. This is the kind of bar that feels like home and we will be returning often! Do yourself a favor and check out this fantastic place before it blows up and the line is...
Read moreWe had a good time here for our first visit last night! The interior is beautiful and cozy, the vibes were great, the service was awesome, and the performer was fun and engaging! I like the location because it is far enough away from downtown to avoid the weekend night chaos, but still in a central part of the city. We tried two cocktails-the 505 Sunset and a classic Martini. We also ordered the loaded bar crisps with added buffalo ranch chicken. Everything was delicious! However, looking back at the menu, we are bummed that the crisps were missing the jalapeños and my martini didn’t have the lemon twist. Those little details really would have made the experience a five star one. It definitely would have stepped up the flavor profile on the crisps for sure. No matter-we will come back again soon to support this locally owned business and highly recommend stopping in...
Read moreThis distillery has some very unique offerings compared to the rest. While new, they have some goals that are interesting and set them apart from the others.
The whiskey was very good and I look forward to their eventual bourbon release. I also had the light rum in a daiquiri and it had a unique flavor I couldn't quite place but was good enough for me to buy a bottle. My fiance had a watermelon moonshine cocktail that was perfect so we walked away with a bottle of that as well.
Overall this distillery has the NM pride and innovation that should keep it going for years to come. We look forward to making the drive up to El Paso again next year to see...
