‼️‼️Read this before you sign up for a membership here‼️‼️ Parking: 3/5 Air Quality: 2/5 Crowd and Availability of Machines: 3.5/5 Cleanliness: 2/5 Variety of Machines: 4/5 Timing: 2/5 Maintenance: 1.5/5 Cardio Equipment: 4/5 Strength Training: 3.5/5 Studios: 3/5 Basketball Court: 2/5 Wi-Fi: 0/5 Pool: 2/5 Spa: 2/5 Locker Room/Washrooms: 1/5 Overall okay but not great. However, I do love the wide variety of upper and lower body machines, which are much better than what you’ll find at the Fairfax and Merrifield locations. Parking: 3/5 The parking process is a bit of a hassle. You need to get a ticket from the machine at the entrance, park on Level C, and validate it at the gym’s front desk. Forget to validate? You’ll end up paying for parking. On the plus side, there’s plenty of space. Air Quality: 1.5/5 The air quality isn’t great—it feels like you’re in an underground subway station, which makes working out less enjoyable. Crowd and Availability of Machines: 4/5 One of the perks of this location is that it’s less crowded, so finding available machines is easy. Cleanliness: 2/5 Cleanliness is lacking. Not surprising for a large chain, but it could definitely improve. Variety of Machines: 4/5 The gym has a wide variety of machines spread over three floors, which is one of its best features. Maintenance: 1.5/5 Maintenance is terrible. Since LA Fitness took over, broken machines sit for months without being repaired. Cardio Equipment: 4/5 They have a good selection of cardio equipment in decent condition. Strength Training: 3.5/5 Strength training options are solid, though some equipment could use better maintenance. Studios: 3/5 The gym offers three studios for group training, which is nice to have. Basketball Court: 2/5 The court is okay, but nothing special. Wi-Fi: 0/5 There’s no Wi-Fi, which is frustrating, especially since it was removed after LA Fitness took over. Pool: 2/5 The pool has been drained and hasn’t been fixed since, which is disappointing. Spa: 2/5 The spa is there, but it’s not worth getting excited about. Timing: 2/5 They used to be 24 hours, but they changed the timing to something weird, and now there are no more flexible timings. Locker Room/Washrooms: 1/5 These are nasty and poorly maintained—definitely the worst part of the gym. In summary, this gym has a lot of potential, especially with its variety of machines and spacious setup. But the poor maintenance, cleanliness, and lack of Wi-Fi really drag it down.

Update 2/15/25 It’s worse, so much worse since LA fitness took over. They reduced the hours, INCREASED the membership cost, got rid of tanning and the spa amenities, shut down the pool (idk if they are repairing or replacing it entirely) the equipment is still broken often and parts, knobs, levers are missing. The escalators NEVER WORK. The locker room has giant cockroaches and at this point the equipment feels like a safety issue. I’ve been taking photos of how disgusting it is. Why is it so hard to run this place?!? LA fitness should be ashamed the literal only “updates” are that they added 2 la fitness punching bags and the la fitness cleaning stands. I was so excited when they got bought out thinking YES they are gonna redo it all or add new machines that haven’t been replaced in god knows how many years. Management let me help you since you’re so inept … get rid of all the outdated TV’s, sell them and use them to buy at least one new set of bumper plates, repaint the whole place it’s disgustingly ugly, make the walls white or light since it’s in a basement with a dungeon feel, replace all the machines, FIX THE ESCALATORS and maintain them (how effing hard is this?!?) Add bumper plates and a hip thrust station, as well as a few Olympic lifting platforms without squat racks (for cleans, deadlifts etc), add more than one of the most popular machines, add more cleaning stations and THEN you can justify raising the price and being called a “gym.” Updated 11-6-23 I didn’t think Xsport could get worse and over the last 3 years it has. Equipment is never updated or maintained which leads to broken machines constantly. The escalators are always broke, WHY HAVE THEM?! The spa is a joke, the tanning beds IF they are working are disgusting. The rest of the spa perks are also usually broken or dirty. There are no bumper plates, no updates except to the upstairs and treadmills. Management clearly doesn’t give a F about this place, better off going to planet fitness nearby. They honestly just need to close down at this point. It’s pathetic. I love the sauna, the tanning and the Infrared sauna, as well as the hydro massage which quite honestly is the only reason I come. The staff is nice but the equipment sucks bad and they do not have bumper plates. The equipment is old and rusty and they do not have towel service.

Extremely Unprofessional Sales Tactic from Trainer, Be Wary Before Accepting a Free Assessment From This Trainer P.S It's worth noting that I have nothing against Xsport, it's facility, or their staff. In fact, I think the gym is great! It has all the amenities I was looing for and super affordable. The Staff has been super friendly and overall a great gym. I will still support this gym and refer my friends/family. I was just very disappointed with the manner we were treated by this trainer. This is no way to talk to people, extremely unprofessional. Unacceptable. context: I recently accompanied my girlfriend to her free consultation at Xsport . She visited for a fitness assessment and a quick training session. The consultation went amazing and the associate wanted to discuss paid training options. After declining the training, the trainer wrote an extremely unprofessional text to my girlfriend, which was completely inappropriate. (Called me "Manipulative" for advising my girlfriend to sleep on her decision before purchasing) I completely understand that at the day their goal is to sell training packages and help their clients succeed with their fitness goals. After going over the different plans with my girlfriend, which cost over $1700, I advised my girlfriend to sleep on this decision because it's a large investment. The Trainer persisted that my girlfriend put the down payment and start her first session. The trainer offered a refund for the down payment in case she was unhappy with the training. After thinking it over we decided to go a different route and not purchase the program. After texting the trainer to cancel her session and ask for a refund she received the text attached below. I've been in the sales industry for 4+ years and I am disgusted with the unprofessionalism displayed by this Xsport associate.

George needs to take manager training classes he goes and takes money off my card after intentionally not training me for a month he argued with me about his employees and there lack of customer service he also argued with me and told me that customer service didn’t offer a refund and they did he then intentionally went and stole more money off my card and locked my online account so I’m not able to reset my password a month ago told me it Was a corporate issue

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT FOR A PERSONAL TRAINER AT THIS LOCATION

Update it’s has been a month since I trained at Xsport after signing a contract for a personal trainer and was treated like Crap was told by Corporate I could have a refund George who has still yet to contact me as the GM said that they were not refunding me it is against the law to sign A contract and then break the contract because you feel like it so my next step is the BBB and to get my daddy involved who is an attorney no way these people conduct this facility this unprofessional Greg NEEDS MANAGEMENT COURSE HE has fabricated since the first day I paid him money for a trainer now he is unavailable but was able to call when he wanted me to sign up for a trainer

Update… none of the managers have yet to contact me they waited 3 weeks and had the trainer who gave me the poorest customer service ever to give me an apology like I would pay him to train me after being treated awful Alan nor George have contacted me just continue to avoid me after lying

I have been with Xsport for about 12 years i transferred my membership to this area when I moved here 6 years ago I have done personal training at this site before This is literally the most unprofessional group of employees that have been employed at this location the managers are unprofessional and have bad customer service so of course the team they lead will show the same level of unprofessionalism George and Alan could careless how the trainers treat the people they train and they disregard any complaints that are filed if they have a friendship with the trainer they took my payment for training and allowed the trainer Greg who told me his time change to not train me because he didn’t want to do research on my health conditions after I initially requested a trainer and George forced him on me because it’s his buddy I can only imagine how many other people they treat like this unfortunately for them I will keep complaining as a customer I don’t deserve poor customer service from people in customer service

So I been coming to this gym for years I train with the trainers before so I thought I’d grab a Black Friday sell first red flag was I asked for a certain trainer they lied to me about why she couldn’t train me I get the trainer he recommends I tell the guy what my issue is and tell him how I need to be helped he hadn’t done it once since I told him my payments are set to come out bi weekly they snatched the payment 3 days early then I find out my trainer won’t be in after making sure he gets his payment with no plans to make sure I get trained I go to log into my account they locked my act where I couldn’t access it to do anything with my act I called when I noticed at 4 AM the rep who answered the phone when I called at 4 AM katlyn tells me I need to talk to the general manager to get my act reset I asked why would I have to do that she laughs and tells me she just works there I asked for corporate info she tells me she doesn’t know she only is there to make sure nobody steals i asked her why couldn’t she answer any questions 4 o’clock is the time she chose to come to work I have been coming to this location for years the staff seems to be more careless and a bit malicious my payments should come out on the day noted per contract and now all of a sudden since I got angry about that now my act is locked and it shouldn’t be I don’t owe them anything why would my account magically need to be reset they are dishonest and aren’t passionate about training they only want there payment if I tell my trainer what my issue is it should...

This is by far the worse experience I’ve ever had with a gym. Please, RUNAWAY!!!

To start, I saw the gym online advertising for a $19.95 membership fee. I went to check it out and they lied and said that they are only allowing people to sign up for the $42 a month gym membership. Then the owner, I believe his name is Sam, steps in. He told me about their trainer services. He claimed that the trainers would be available on my schedule. I’ve had a trainer before at Golds Gym, and I love personal training sessions. So we agreed to a payment plan. I then asked the owner/manager about cancellation. He told me “you can quit anytime and that we don’t lock our members into a contract.” So I signed the contract, and that was a big mistake!!!!!!!

The first month, I worked out 4 days a week, and did not hear a single word from my trainer! One person did text me what time I would like to train, and I said 6:00 am. She did not text me back afterwards. The next month I sprained my wrist. I went in to cancel my contract because I had been at the gym 4 days a week and hadn’t seen a single trainer, and then I was injured so using the gym was pointless.

When I tried to cancel Sam said I would need a doctor’s note. I told him that he said I could quit anytime. He then blew up and got really angry trying to call me a liar. (But if you read the reviews you will find that I am not the only one the manager has lied to.) So he would not cancel my membership, and this was back in March 2019. Since I am a single person living in the DC area, I cannot afford to take off work just for a doctor’s note when my wrist was already wrapped in a soft cast. Anyways, I talk to the other guy that filled out the contract, I think his name is Zack. He informs me that there are certain exercises that you can do that will help with my wrist. I tried to continue. I was finally assigned a new trainer. However, this trainer could not meet with me frequently because he was overbooked. Back in February I signed up for 25 personal training sessions. At the end of August I still had 19 left!!!!!!!! I went to the gym 4 days a week, so there is no excuse for why they couldn’t find me a trainer that would meet with me regularly.

This is a shady gym. Do not sign a contract with them!!!!

The gym runs out of equipment all of the time. It’s only kept clean when they are doing specials. Otherwise it’s messy. The women’s bathroom is in disarray. I’ve even seen a large cockroach in the locker rooms. This place is over packed in the afternoon, and it’s nearly impossible to get a consistent trainer in the morning hours.

Go anywhere but here!!! Lifetime, Golds, Planet Fitnesses, LA Fitness, Orange Theory, Crunch! Just do not go here!

Their cancellation policy is ridiculous. If you move you have to send them your utility bill before they can stop charging you. Really? You don’t even get a new utility bill for the first two months in your new place. They are the ones who failed to give proper service. The manager lied to get me to sign the contract. Considering he has lied to multiple people, then there should be a class action lawsuit against this gym.

Update** I did everything the response below me said and absolutely NOTHING has happened. Don’t waste your money folks! I have emailed them 4x and still no response. Class...

I really give this place zero stars. They don't deserve it. XSport is not about you like they say when they answer the phone, they're about taking your money. I spoke about personal training sessions with the understanding that I would start sessions in December, I was charged that same day after I verified multiple times that charges wouldn't start until December. I just moved here from Austin and even explained that to my consultant that my budget was very tight after signing a new lease. I called the very next day to get that transaction cancelled, was told it would take 5-7 business days. After a week, I hadn't heard anything from anyone and there was no refund on my account so I took it upon myself to call corporate to get a status. They told me that they hadn't even received a refund request and they would contact Alexandria location to check status. I asked the lady who was helping me from corporate how long should I wait until I hear back from her, she told me she would call me the next day. After hanging up, I called the Alexandria location and sure enough, it was never filed. Was told it would be filed that day after the GM signs off on it. I did not receive a call from corporate the next day like they promised. I had to call them again the day after to get a status. Was told they hadn't received anything from the GM at Alexandria and they would call that day for another status check. At this point I noticed a member ship charge on my account (this is a second charge now with no resolution to my first problem). I again called the Alexandria location and was told that GM had not signed off (they didn't even give me a reason why it hadn't been done) but that they would leave a message for the GM to do that day. I asked for them to cancel my entire membership and asked for a refund on that as well because they're customer service was terrible and I was very disappointed. Was told they would include this as well. I let a few days pass, fast forward to 2 weeks after signing up, still nothing has been done and no one has called to follow up with me. I sent an email to my consultant asking for a status and expressing my dissatisfaction with their service and failure to communicate, he responded with these simple words, "Refund is being submitted today." (That's it, no apology) I can not believe it took 2 weeks for this to be submitted. The next day, I see another charge from Xsport on my bank statement for $49, what for?! I thought I cancelled this membership. This is the third time they charge my account!!! I just moved here!! I can not afford these unexpected charges. Xsport has taken a total of $430.95 in 2 weeks!! And I have yet to see one penny refunded into my account. Do not waste your time with these careless people, they're just money hungry and don't want to apologize for...
