Amherst Beaver Creek Reservation — Attraction in Amherst

This is a great place to walk around, get some exercise, explore and take in nature and take your family. The sights are really pleasing. There are a lot of dog walkers but it’s really a nice little spot to enjoy. The path is all paved so its accessible to a wide range of explorers. There are various overlooks with views of the creek and most have benches to relax and be one with nature. The length of the path is much longer than you first realize. There is a playground for the kids, a pavilion for picnicking, a safety town for kids to play in (some buildings modeled after actual Amherst buildings). It is a small park. I parked on Sunrise Dr and walked the trail. The straight away is only .3 miles and the loop is .7 so it was a short walk. I did see 4 deer and while the very tall pine trees looked nice, the smell from the waste water treatment plant was pretty rough today since it was so warm. If you go on cooler days, the plant doesnt smell so bad. There is also a scooter field, safety town and with a small walk down the sidewalk past the police station, you can view the Vietnam War Memorial. Had my daughter’s bridal shower here Saturday (11/13) I’ve rented this place before because I really like it. Clean and roomy. Perfect for what I needed it for and it has a trail. Very pretty back there.

My only issue is that it’s not enough time to do all that has to be done. Set up and take down is included in the rental time. That’s not enough time AT ALL. It was very stressful trying to get everything done before guests arrived. We really had the guests there just 2 hours. Everything was done so far. Can’t...
