How in the world did I let this used bookstore slip under the radar? It's been here for 20 years? What? I feel so ignorant! We do not have many independent bookstores around anymore so to find this literally sparked joy!
Glad husband and I had a chance to wander through this wonderland of books. There are a lot to dig, for sure. All genres! We spent a good hour there, most of it conversing with the owner, Thomas. He is really nice and knows his books for sure! It was super cool getting to know him in such a short period of time.
Anyway, I guarantee that you will walk out with a book in hand! I found a couple books...this should keep me busy for a little bit, lol. Husband, of course found a few too, for his library. Every time I mention "let's go the bookstore", husband would always frown because we have so many books! I would respond, "would you rather me shop for another handbag?" LOL. Yea...I didn't think so.
Reading is fundamental. Keep on reading and exploring and discovering new stories and adventures in a book near you. Come and support this local bookstore and keep it alive. We need them as much as they need...
Read moreI was addicted to a substance called Spice for few years. Horrible substance. I would get high - which would last for 10 minutes- throw away the substance and purchase again. I would go to stores to beg for 50 cent Pom Pom on credit just to roll it. I would throw the substance in trash and later upon being sober jump into bin to retrieve. Those were darkest moments of my life. Thank God it passed.
Once just to get money for Pom Pom I sold a book my father gave to me with a handwritten note on my Birthday to this gentleman. Later on my father was diagnosed with colon cancer. (Thank God he is okay now.)
I felt bad for having to sold my book for addiction; thus I went back to purhcase it back.
The kind-hearted gentleman immediately returned the book free of charge. The price doesn't matte. His act of kindness will stay with me...
Read moreOne of the last and one of the best. Tom, the owner, manages to manage his inventory in such a way that he minimizes the books that people rarely look for, but maximizes the books that are more sought after. I've not been let down yet, no matter what book my eclectic tastes send me here searching for. From Sylvia Plath to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead to Star Wars novel missing from my collection.
I usually browse and grab a book or two, then hit Circle K for a Power Pop, then kick it on a curb or in my car while I peruse my selections. The lack of a public restroom is a drag but there is a pay toilet at the laundry mat.
Need a book? Try here first. It will save a few bucks and help support...
