Oh man, this place left a bad taste in my mouth and i'm not talking about the food. The lady that's working there have zero customer service skills. So rude. Never been to a restaurant that's so unwelcoming. Cant you even ask for extra utensils. We order nachos with everything on the side because our daughter is very picky so basically just chips. But it still came out with all the toppings. With alittle back and forth, the lady demanded us to throw it in the trash as she pointed at it before she get us a new order. Soon after she was like you know what give it to me I'll toss it with so much attitude. I can go on and on about her. As for the food, over priced taco tuseday even though it is slightly bigger than normal, but bigger not always better, their "best in oc" fish tacos do have a nice crunch but is mediocre at best. Carne asada super dry. Crunchy taco no flavor. And the only hot sauce they give us is the red sauce which is not spicy and too sweet for my taste. No condiment bar, everything is extra charge. Never again. Stick to local taco trucks. Cheaper and more tasty

You weren't there to experience this or you might be the woman we encountered who knows. If you have cameras, please review them. We were not greeted at all, no one asked about our day. She barely wanted to take our order. I had to initiate the conversation to order. So stop lying. And saying that you accommodate our needs on the busiest day, please, the place was empty, and when customers came in, we waited until you're done with them to place another order. And saying we left the plate clean is a joke lol yes we did eat the meat, not gonna waste my hard early money. But left the tortillas. We spent about $50. So what if we put it in different price bracket. You think we bullying your restaurant? No, i work in customer service, so I know how people should be treated. That something she lacks and defending employees like that, then you're a part of the problem.
Ps that wingstop only had 2 tenders in there just for my picky daughter. Not like we had a...
Read moreI came here with my husband over the weekend and for us sometimes I feel like it's hard finding a new spot. Even though he says he's not picky, he really kinda is so I'm not going to lie I was a little apprehensive. But, when he said he was in the mood for some good fish tacos I yelped up this spot and we headed out. The place is small with just a handful of tables on the inside and probably as many outside. The day was perfect to dine outside so we decided to do so. We walked up to the line, waited our turn and ordered. We both got 1 fish taco, 1 shrimp taco, and my husband ordered 1 potato taco to share. I also got a medium Jamaica in total it came out to $20 even. We went outside to wait for our food and it wasn't long before the gentleman behind the counter called us. My husband picked up the food then I went and got one of each salsa (they had two, red and green), escabeche, and onions then we sat down to eat. I started with the fish taco and tried both salsas as well as their bottled hot sauce, all 3 sauces were good as we're the escabeche and onions. The fish taco was delicious, well breaded, but not overly so it was a good taco. I then moved on to the shrimp taco and OMG mic drop that taco was delicious! They used some sort of Chipotle sauce inside this taco that was amazing and put the flavor profile over the top, it was delicious!! I did not end up trying the potato taco because I was too full and I was okay with that. The jamaica was good, a little too sweet for me but once we drank some of it my husband asked the man behind the counter to add water to it and he did with no problem. While we were out on the patio there was a consistent line and it was busy, but they never failed to deliver quickly and in flavor as well. Everyone eating there seemed very pleased, I...
Read moreWe came in out of curiosity. The "best?" Wow! That's quite a claim. However, from the first bite, it was a bit disappointing. While the frijoles were a little on the bland side, they were just ok. The rice was very disappointing. No flavor at all. It was almost as bland as steamed white rice.
The cheese enchiladas were a failure as well. The sauce was this deep slightly reddish brown. I thought it might be a chipotle sauce or maybe a molé twist on the sauce. The enchiladas were buried under a bunch of shredded iceberg lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. Way too much stuff on it. Not how my Mom, abuelita, or tias made them. I had to shovel off all that stuff with my flimsy, plastic fork. One bite and my night was ruined. Yeah, the sauce had some heat to it, but it was SWEET! Enchilada sauce is supposed to be zesty with heat, NOT SWEET!!! It over powered the cheese inside (which wasn't much). It was remarkable, because cheese enchiladas are so easy to make; it's hard to screw them up! Yet, they managed to do it. I didn't get it. They looked Mexican. They sounded Mexican. But they cooked like they never paid attention when their own mothers or abuelitas cooked. No flavor, no passion, no joy.
My girlfriend's chicken tacos were too dry and they were also bland as well. She tried to doctor them up with the salsa from the salsa bar (they only had red or green). They were too hot for her (white girl). I thought the salsas just weren't flavorful. (Try roasting the chiles, add a little roasted garlic, and for God's sake: SALT!!
The enchilada combo and the taco combo came out to $20 without drinks. A bit overpriced.
It wasn't as good as Rodrigo's (Don Jose's), but at least it wasn't as bad as Mexi Casa.
We won't be coming back for...
