CarStub — Attraction in Anaheim

All is fast and great until they have to pay for your car. Then they do not do as agreed and now I have to make another payment on the car. The Accounting team also treats you as like "hey, we are doing you a favor" and do not speak to you as a customer but demand you have to give call the finance bank to get yet another payoff amount. The paperwork was signed on November 17, car was picked up on the 19th and they tell me on December 8th they haven't mailed the check to the bank and that the bank will not receive it before the next payment on the 19th is due. I only found that the car wasn't paid off when I called the bank to inquire why they are still sending me a reminder for a payment due. The Accounting DEMANDED I call for another payoff and gave me an option for them to make the monthly payment on my behalf, which I already knew not to trust them with as they are not good on your payment timelines, or make the payment, submit receipt to them, get a reimbursement check and call for another payoff. WTH? I already did my part and you took the vehicle from me. They try so hard to backtrack that they don't guarantee 10-day payoff on their brochures and that really is 21 days. I would not do business with them again and will not...

I really didn't plan on selling my old Rav4 in one day. But thanks to Justin/Carstub, the process was quick and easy. My brother started finding quotes for used cars late the previous night. Carstub sent a text in the morning inviting me to call. I was on hold for about 10 minutes and spoke to a rep. She asked me a few questions, gave me a preliminary quote and said that an appraiser could come out that day to inspect my vehicle.

Justin called to confirm his arrival and sent ETA updates. I like when companies are responsive and honor your time. He was very professional and extremely patient which I really appreciated. He inspected the car and took it for a test drive. We definitely weren't ready to sell the Rav same day... no documents ready. I thought we were going to have to keep looking for at least a week. My Rav is 18 years old and has very high mileage so we weren't expecting a whole lot of money. The initial offer was low. We'd received quotes from other companies that were twice as high and said as much. Miracle of miracles, Carstub was able to match our highest offer from another competitor. This was my first time using carstub and I went them or the great reviews. The representative who came to my house was very nice and prompt ( 1 stars for that.) I was told the there were over $1,000 of fees on my car due to it not being smogged. I was a little confused with the registration being paid why there would be any fees at all especially since I was told on the phone by carstub rep that as long as I had registration paid and the title in hand there would be no fees. The appraiser was on and off the phone trying to make me a good deal, finally he comes back with carstub being willing to waive all the " DMV fees " and they'll pay me $200. Today I checked with the DMV to verify and sure enough there were no fees owed on my vehicle so I now I walk away from the experience feeling taken advantage of. I received $200 for my car and disappointment in carstub. I should of done my homework said no thank you. I was told Carstub had their own DMV department which is where they get their discounts at and perhaps this is where they generate THEIR fees because why would Carstub have the authority to waive DMV fees? Just beware...
