Anderson Downtown Historic District — Attraction in Anderson

We were visiting the area, and decided to check out the downtown. Very cute and quaint, with some cool bars and restaurants. A little ran down in places, but it shows that there are cool people, and businesses restoring it. Definitely worth a visit, we'll be back next time to see how much has changed.

We loved it so much that we purchased a fixer upper outside of downtown. The downtown is going through a big revitalization process. Lot's of great restaurant choices ranging from Sushi, Mexican, Italian, Irish, Chinese, Steak & Seafood to all kinds of American food. A few micro brew pubs, 2 brewing companies, a few coffee roasters, a distillery, and many other cool bars that have food, live music and djs. Lot's of hiking and mountain biking nearby. Beautiful homes in the area. Unfortunately it's mixed with some pretty run down places with some very unsavory looking people lurking around. Several local homes and businesses have barred up windows. I witnessed a man urinate in the parking lot of a local mechanic shop in broad daylight while my family drove by a week ago. Anderson downtown isn't something like oh my gosh extraordinarily fantastical going to drop 20 miles to see it.. but if you're in Anderson downtown is not too bad there's some good restaurants there's a chocolate shop that has delicious chocolates. A Christmas time there's a big tree in the center of downtown which is really cool. The Police department downtown so just make sure that you don't speak going through there it's like 10...
