Do not go to this restaurant if you have a party of 5 or more. The place does not have large enough tables/booths. Went here with a party of 6 and they crammed us into a table & booth clearly meant for only four people to sit comfortably.... When we asked if they could move another smaller table (the ones they have in the middle of the seating area) next to ours, they told us they can't "because it is a fire hazard". Then they proceed to move two of those tables together to to seat a group of 7 right after (in which they crammed 7 people around two tables meant for two people each). They just didn't want to move the tables for us so they didn't 'lose out on a sale'. On top of that the hostess was rather dismissive and had an extreme non-caring attitude about customer service when we explained that we could not sit at the booth/table comfortably.
The people (myself included) sitting on the end had our butts literally hanging half off the bench, sitting on the hard wood frame. Extremely uncomfortable! We only had half the space of a normal table placement in which to try to eat our dinner. Dinner comes with so many plates that you just don't have room for it all on the table and you have to try to eat while fighting for elbow room with the person sitting next to you. The food itself was ok... just run-of-the-mill americana (chicken fingers, burgers, etc.) The atmosphere was ok as well, though it does get very loud with chatter, even with no music playing in the restaurant.
The owner of the establishment needs to take a serious look at the sizes of their tables and booths and quit trying to force people into uncomfortable situations just for a sale. What does customer service even mean anymore nowadays??
They only have two sizes of table.... either the single-centered leg table that seats 2 people facing each other comfortably, or the two legged tables in the booths that are sized for 4 comfortably. And when I say comfortably, i mean enough room to sit and not feel jammed/crowded to the person next to you and you have ample room on the table for everything (plates, drinks, etc.).
I can honestly say I will probably never be coming back...

But the General Manager apparently doesn’t care about repeat business.
I am on the carnivore diet. It’s been fantastic for my health, especially after a cancer scare. But I’ve realized there are restaurants that are considerate to all dietary restrictions and those that aren’t. This J Peters certainly didn’t care about mine yesterday evening.
It’s important to know I enjoyed what I got to eat. The problem is that I received less than half a meal for the full price. I simply wanted to order 2 (10 oz) beef patties with Cheddar. I can’t eat any of the sides (there aren’t options for the carnivore diet such as bacon), nor can I have the buns or other toppings the burgers come with. Normally restaurants will just charge for the individual patties and cheese. This one not only charged me for the sides I couldn’t have (they didn’t inform me that I’d still pay for the sides without getting them, I would have ordered something as a side for the table) but they told me to get a second patty it would be another full order. They were going to charge me over $30 for 2 beef patties and cheese! So I was rejected from a very simple order that would take very little effort and time to accommodate.
I understand this may be new for some places to look at accommodating, but the lack of effort into properly caring for a customer is why I won’t go back to any J Peter’s and I recommend any others with dietary restrictions to reconsider dining there.
Maybe someone was having a bad day and just couldn’t think critically about what was being asked. I’m open to conversation in understanding as to why I was treated this way by management. Ultimately, I just want to prevent the next person that has a similar situation from...
Read moreBetween the hours of 4pm-6pm, certain entrees are offered at a reduced price. My dining experience started with waiting to be sat, expected. Once sat, the server we would be greeted by walked past a few times allowing approximately 5mins pass. Once greeted and drink orders taken, another 5mins passed before drinks crept to the table one glass at a time. Not to mention the coffee ordered took another 10mins. Followed by another 5min wait, the server finally took our order. Mind you, we ordered our food 15mins prior to the 6pm ring-in cut off time for the discounted rate. It was noticed by a member of our party that the server lolly-gagged around prior to ringing in the order and mentioned to the manager the issue. The manager offered an apology and a 10% discount. When it came time to pay, the 10% only covered the price difference of one entree ordered (not all three) leaving us to foot an extra $15 towards the server’s lack of urgency. I’m very displeased with how this was handled and how service was tonight. My expectations have risen since visiting other J-Peter’s locations and experiencing their friendly, prompt, and tasteful food. Coming from managing restaurants, I expect better from them. I’m not an expert, but seeing a server ‘in the weeds’ over two tables that were sat far enough apart that prompt service could’ve been applied, is unacceptable. Re-train...
