If you haven't had their ice cream, you are truly missing out on something amazing. I first experienced Sweet Swirls through DoorDash, but I'm telling u skip doordash and go into the place, and watch your creation being made!!!! Your ice cream actually starts out in liquid form as cream...which absolutely blew my mind the first time I saw/realized this. They place your mix-ins that you pick out onto this freezing cold countertop that almost looks as though it has a cookie sheet set inside it. Then they pour the cream onto this freezing cold countertop with your mix-ins. Then these Ice Cream Scooper Goddesses mix and swirl our fantabulous creations into the masterpieces that they become! I'm a fan of the build your own because I have found a unique creation that has piqued my interest...so much so I considered purchasing gallons at a time because I practically lived at their store (vanilla ice cream with strawberry, cinnamon toast crunch & pretzels for mix-ins plus strawberry and caramel sauces....if you're curious), however if you're more of the traditional type they have all types of combos ranging from a traditional Oreo type, and a s'mores (the marshmallows are roasted there in the store with a little miniature torch!), and even a girl scout type thin mint mixture. This place is so amazing that they even have ice cream sandwiches and you can tell the cookies aren't the standard pull out of a box or bag somewhere. Everything I have tried from this place has been amazing and I highly recommend it! Very family friendly, and locally owned and supported, it is not a chain which makes me love it even more! The photo I've added is my door dash photo but it's proof that I am a sweet swirls addict/loyal customer and not just some influencer being paid for their opinion (or at least that's what I'm trying to portray....y'all probably just think I'm a...
Read moreThis was my first trip to sweet swirls. My wife had been wanting to try and give this place a try due to all the you tube videos on rolled ice creme. I had never even heard of this process before. They had a large selection of ice cream and topping choices. I decided to try the Vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cups and cheese cake. My wife got the chocolate ice cream with oreos, chocolate sauce and caramel sauce. The whole process was kind of amazing. They took the peanut butter cups and cheese cake and put that on the cold plate. Then they added the cream and it all just began to freeze. They chopped up the peanut butter cups and cheese cake while they were spreading out the cream. The more they spread the more it froze. When it got hard they cut it up and started to roll it down. They were then able to put it in the cup with just a pair of tongs. I then opted to get the cherry on top. The ice cream was not like normal ice cream it was soft and velvety but a little harder then a soft serve. This was a great experience that I am sure I will enjoy again. I was glad to hear from the owner that they are adding one in Johnston so I won't have to go as far to get some...
Read moreDrove from Waukee to try the swirl ice cream. Came right at noon when they opened. There was a big line already. Two guys working it took forever. Honestly there is no much flavor to the ice cream and the toppings they put in is very little. One strawberry and two raspberries in one small portion.... my second order was cheesecake with raspberry and they put in a small piece of cheesecake which they put the box of the cake out od the refrigerator directly on the plate/fridge where they are mixing the ice cream... he cut a piece and put ot back in the fridge. The toppings including the whipped cream are just regular toppings nothing special, store bought. The idea of the swirl ice cream is pretty cool but the fact that you wait so long in line, the price, and the flavor nothing special. While waiting in line and looking at the pre-made orders some od the orders didn’t really turn out as pretty and swirly as pictures show. We wanted to give it a try but in the future will probably stick with...
