The Ann Arbor Aviary — Attraction in Ann Arbor

2023 update: Its been about 2 years since I started taking classes at the Aviary. I just performed in my first public show alongside my classmates, who I now consider my friends. The Aviary has helped me not only helped me build my physical strength, but also my confidence and social group. I feel so grateful to have this space available and would encourage anyone that wants to make friends or move their body more to sign up!

Also, as a side note, the studio is no longer requiring masks, though they will opt for masks if any student expresses concern. In addition, individuals are also welcome to wear masks if they choose.

Without a doubt, the best circus school in the Ann Arbor area (and one of the best anyplace). It’s been a privilege to have gotten to know the folks at the Aviary. Classes are taught by the best instructors from Ann Arbor/Ypsi, Metro Detroit, Toledo, and Lansing, and amazing talent comes from far and wide to host workshops. The teachers are pros, folks who have dedicated their lives and livelihoods to a knowledge base that emphasizes safety and body positivity. The studio itself is big, bright, and beautiful, in a freshly renovated athletic complex, and the environment is a welcoming one of friendliness and inclusivity. I have been beyond thrilled with every class I've taken here over the past three years. Every instructor is amazingly supportive, works with where you are in terms of strength and flexibility. The number one priority of the staff is very clearly safety, which is not true for other places I tried out in Ann Arbor when the Aviary was relocating. You get what you pay for at the Aviary: safety, fun, professionalism, and positive attitudes. All of the students have been supportive and encouraging of one another.
