Dear Red Robin Management,
I’m writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the experience my family and I had at your State St. location during what was supposed to be a celebratory meal for my uncle’s birthday. Having frequented Red Robin for years, hosting larger gatherings and relying on your brand for consistent quality, I am compelled to bring to your attention the significant failures we encountered during our recent visit.
There were 12 of us, and our expectations were high given our history with Red Robin. Unfortunately, everything my family of three ordered was not only wrong but also handled in a way that left us feeling disregarded.
To start, I ordered the Whiskey River BBQ Chicken Sandwich, a staple for me over the years. It arrived looking perfect—except for one crucial detail: it had bacon on it. I’ve ordered this sandwich countless times and it has never come with bacon, which is a serious issue considering my pork allergy. Understandably concerned, I informed our waitress, who apologized and mentioned that while the chef was new, “he was not that new!” She offered to replace the sandwich or get the manager, and I opted for a replacement.
What happened next was both shocking and disappointing. Within less than two minutes, my replacement sandwich arrived. However, it was a far cry from the first one. Instead of the initially impressive presentation, I received a tiny, dry piece of chicken with a wilted tomato, no sauce, and barely any crispy onions. It felt like a slapdash effort, not the quality I’ve come to expect from Red Robin.
As if that wasn’t enough, my daughter’s Smashed Avocado ‘N Bacon Burger, which she requested with no pink and pepper jack cheese instead of Swiss, arrived visibly pink and with Swiss cheese. My partner’s hamburger was served with a measly seven fries, and despite being promised more, they didn’t arrive until 30 minutes later—long after his burger was gone.
The entire experience was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had, and it was all the more disappointing because we’ve long been loyal to your brand. We ended up paying for meals that were inedible, incomplete, and inconsistent with what Red Robin promises its customers. Dining out is a privilege, and when we choose your restaurant, we expect the quality and service that has kept us coming back for years. Sadly, this visit failed to meet even the most basic standards.
I truly regret not advocating more strongly for our meal at the time, but I’m reaching out now in the hope that you’ll address these significant issues. My family and I are unlikely to return unless we see that Red Robin is committed to upholding the standards that have made it a preferred choice for so long.
Please take this feedback seriously and ensure that future customers do not have to endure the disappointing...
Read moreOrdered a BBQ chicken wrap with garlic parm fries. Came to my table looking very white (the chicken) so I asked for a side of bbq sauce. I opened the wrap,it came with no bbq but a lot of ranch! I poured some of the bbq on it only to find it was ice cold (refrigerated obviously) so I sent it back to be remade. It came back, first thing I noticed, no garlic parm fries. I go to pick up the wrap, ICE COLD!! Like the wrap came out of a freezer. So I called the waiter back over whom at NO point came to our table other than to take our order. I said “this is ice cold, you can have it back” He said , “want anything else?” I said “no”. He said “want the manager?” I said “yes, that would be great.” Manager comes to my table, “hear you had a problem?” So I told him everything. He said “oh sorry about that, I’ll talk to them back there. Have a nice day” and walked away. Waiter was immediately back at our table with the bill. 3.49 each for drinks we were never offered refills on. Extra charge for my husbands garlic bottomless fries he was never offered more of, and onion rings that were only 3.00 less than my husbands burger and fries!!! I don’t mind paying good money if the food and service is worth it. Obviously this place is not!!!! They don’t care about having return customers...
Read moreWorked here about a year ago. I feel its enough time to leave a review.
Let me start by saying, If you have an attentive server you will receive excellent food and timely fry refills. YES unlimited fries, including sweet potato fires (side note, sometimes the kitchen is not paying attention yes you, the one on fry side and they do not get fries out in time) But still if you have a vocal server that is paying attention and communicating with their expo, you should still get your fries. NO EXCUSES. Management will always take care of there guests, so if there is an issue don't hesitate to ask for one of them, they are here for you. Fry refills are the biggest grip when I tell people I've worked here. So I thought i'd address it.
BACK TO THE FOOD... I would defiantly recommend upgrading to the Angus patty (you can do so with any burger, obviously its an up charge...food isn't free) and taking advantage of the dipping sauces (some are free, others are an up charge). Sweet Chili Thai or Honey Mustard is so good on fries and Garlic Aioli on your burger is tasty.
Look at their drink menu before ordering your regular boring drink you can get anywhere...they have a ton of choices for everyone...
Almost forgot, you can get any burger or sandwich as a lettuce wrap for my KETO...
