ALLERGY FRIENDLY ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 5/5 Stars
Highly recommended for everyone, especially those with food allergies seeking a safe and delicious dining experience.
Seoul Garden in Ann Arbor has now earned my loyalty through not one, but two outstanding dining experiences that showcase exactly how restaurants should handle food allergies. As someone with an egg allergy, finding restaurants that truly understand allergen management can be challenging, but Seoul Garden sets the gold standard.
The owner's approach to handling my egg allergy has been nothing short of exemplary on both visits. Her knowledge and attention to detail are impressive - she personally ensures that cooks wipe down all surfaces and thoroughly clean the stir fry pans to prevent any cross-contamination. This level of care demonstrates genuine understanding of food allergies rather than just going through the motions.
During our first visit, when we called ahead to discuss suitable options, they went above and beyond by providing detailed information about every item we asked about and even sent us package information for ingredients. This proactive approach immediately put us at ease and showed their commitment to diner safety.
Seoul Garden provided my introduction to Korean BBQ, and they couldn't have set the bar higher. The restaurant's immaculate cleanliness and beautiful interior design create the perfect atmosphere for both intimate dinners and group celebrations. The attention to detail in the restaurant's presentation matches their attention to food safety.
The service quality is exceptional - there's virtually no wait time, and the staff provides excellent assistance with grilling and serving the meats. Their attentiveness never feels intrusive, striking the perfect balance between helpful guidance and allowing you to enjoy your meal.
The combo plate for two is genuinely substantial - we discovered it could easily feed three people. The generous portions caught us completely off guard in the best way possible, making appetizers entirely unnecessary. Every dish we tried was delicious, showcasing authentic flavors and quality ingredients.
What sets Seoul Garden apart is the genuine care they show for their guests' needs and safety. In a dining landscape where many restaurants view allergen requests as an inconvenience, Seoul Garden treats them as an opportunity to provide exceptional service. The owner's personal involvement and expertise make all the difference.
Whether you're new to Korean BBQ or a seasoned enthusiast, Seoul Garden delivers an outstanding experience. The restaurant is ideal for introducing family and friends to Korean cuisine, with staff who are patient and knowledgeable about helping newcomers navigate the menu and grilling process.
Seoul Garden represents everything a restaurant should be - delicious food, beautiful atmosphere, exceptional service, and genuine care for guest safety and satisfaction. For diners with food allergies, this restaurant demonstrates that eating out can be both safe and enjoyable when proper protocols and genuine care are in place.
After two fantastic experiences, Seoul Garden has earned a permanent spot on our list of favorite restaurants. We'll continue returning and enthusiastically recommending it to others. This is how all restaurants should operate, and Seoul Garden deserves recognition for setting such a...
Read moreThe food was extremely bland. To be honest, never have I ever thought that Korean food could taste this terrible. We got the Sundoobu, cold noodles, and the Bibimpap. It was my first time ever eating Buckwheat cold noodles that were soggy and not chewy. The broth was poorly made and one could easily get a better quality, and cheaper, cold noodle package at the asian supermarket. The same thing could be said about the sundoobu. Tasted as if it were spicy flavored water with tofu chunks in it. The Bibimpap was alright, excluding the fact that the bulgolgi was poorly marinated, making the entire dish super bland. The service was decent, but it did not make up for the 20 percent surcharge that was listed on the bill. They had the audacity to include the tip into that surcharge. They most likely knew themselves how bad their food was, and were afraid that people wouldn't tip them if it weren't for the mandatory surcharge. By the end of the meal, although there wasn't anything wrong with it, I still felt the urge to hurl everything I ate back up. Maybe the chef didn't put salt into our meal, but that just further explains their negligence towards their cutomers. Do...

I was so happy that they reopened. The remodel looks great, however the new owner and the new staff are absolutely trash and have ruined this place.
Here's the run down: *They changed the portion size, it's much smaller than before. *We had to ask for rice and realized they charged us per bowl. *Our waitress just never checked on us during our hour meal. I had to request water and rice and sure enough they took forever to bring the rice and charged me for it *They added an 18% gratuity onto our party of 2's bill without ever mentioning that and I left them $25 on 80 and didn't even realize their added fee until I left making me feel completely stupid. Kimchi was not fresh *Beef was low quality
All that aside, there were two other tables , and three waitresses.... It's mind-blowing that they never came to check on us and I had to ask for what should be basic things, a refill and rice.
I live close to Seoul garden and used to go two or three times a month. Take my advice. Go to tomokun, go to Kangs, go to Hana. Avoid this place like you...
