I submitted the request to have my phone repaired on Sunday the 16th, because the screen broke and I could not use it. The repair options were to drive to one of two UBreakIFix locations that were over an hour away or have someone come to my home to fix the phone on Thursday the 20th between 9 - 11 am, so I scheduled the home repair option. I waited all morning Thursday, and once it was early afternoon I checked the status of the repair online and it said âcomplete.â I used my husbandâs phone to call UBreakIFix, who was supposed to send out the repair person, and spoke with Armani. Armani told me that they canceled the appointment because they didnât have the part. Asurion/UBreakIFix had offered the repair timeslot and had DAYS, while I was without a phone, to get the parts, but somehow they didnât and ALSO did not even have the decency to email or call me about canceling - they just didnât show up. They told me it would take another week to get the part. It was totally unprofessional and left me without a phone even longer and trying to figure out what to do next. I called Asurion, and they offered to send me a replacement phone overnight, but it was an old refurbished model and the pits, so I returned that. On Friday afternoon, Armani called me to say they got the parts to repair the phone, but I would have to take the phone to them to fix it; that they couldnât send someone. The entire reason I waited a week and didnât take the phone somewhere locally for repair was because I didnât have time and also didnât want to drive over an hour away to drop off my phone for repair. Luckily, my husband ended up taking the phone to Armani / UBreakIFix for me in the thick of rush-hour traffic and the screen got fixed so I could use the phone again. The phone is working again so the repair seems to have been well done, but I canât believe I was charged for this repair after all the nonsense Asurion and UBreakIFix put me through. Totally unprofessional and not worth it when you have to wait a week AND jump through hoops to get your phone fixed. After all that I should have just gotten a new phone. In the future I definitely wonât use UBreakIFix in Antioch and Iâll probably skip the Asurion phone insurance too (Iâll save that money just to get a new phone or same-day...
Read moreHad to come in on several occasions, to attempt to get my issue resolved. On day-3, I literally stayed in the store from 11:15 am - 3:54pm, in attempts to get my phone issues resolved. However, after bringing-in a brand new insurance replacement (for a rebooting issue), uBreakiFix tried to send me a way with a defective screen -- but only after I refused to pay $400+ out of pocket for a new screen, or $200+ if I signed-up for their monthly service. Mind you, my phone's issue was that it kept rebooting -- NOT a bunch of colored lines every which way after turning it on -- which is EXACTLY the condition it was in when I left. Thank God I had the presence of mind to turn the phone back on (to check it) before driving away, or I'd have left with a whole different issue -- and my phone insurer WOULDN'T have covered it!
My honest thoughts: my battery probably needed more of a charge (hence, the rebooting issue) and they knew it. So instead of just telling me that, they decided to try to make money off of my ignorance, by replacing my brand new phone screen with a defective one -- AND from the manufacturer, as their contracted service repair company. Pretty shady. And if I hadn't seen the exact same pattern unfold about 5-6 times while sitting there for 4.5 hours, I might have given them 'the benefit of the doubt'. But, I believe I saw a similar pattern happen with SEVERAL other people -- which means, it's NOT just an oversight: it's deliberate.
I won't ever return, unless I absolutely had NO other options! And I'd probably try a different location than Antioch, if that were the case.
One last thing: to assuage my disappointment in the level of service I was given, a "free" data transfer was offered; to siphon data from an older, defective phone. Instead of offering me my data on a disk, USB drive, etc -- the guy came-out telling me that my data was now COMPLETELY irretrievable "due to pins being broken on the motherboard". Interesting....when that phone's issue, was only a cracked screen. #CaveatEmptor. I'd truly only try this place again -- if it was literally a last resort. And, I'd STILL try to find somewhere...

I never had any issues with my phone but because my phone is insured, I received an email notifying me that I could perform a Battery Capacity check. My battery capacity was at 77% and it was suggested to take my phone to uBreakiFix for a battery replacement at no charge and that's exactly what I did.
They counter person, a second gentleman and much more friendly, said it would take about 45 minutes. When my phone was returned, there was only 5% battery life, so I avoided using it until I drove 8 miles home to charge it. When I plugged the charger in, neon green verticle lines obscured the screen so much, I couldn't see. I immediately took the phone back to the shop. The nice gentleman, very diplomatically asked if I could leave it overnight. I couldn't because I was hosting a dinner party and knew a lot of people needed to text or call me. So he instructed to bring it back the next day and I did.
A new counter person and gentlman said my wait would be approximately 2 hours. I waited the full two hours and he told me my phone was repaired. I went to my car and noticed texts were coming through. When I tried to read the text, the phone turned off and continually rebooted every 45 seconds. I took my phone back inside as I had not driven off yet. I waited another hour before they returned to the lobby to tell me I needed to replace my motherboard. He even gave me a word of encouragement by saying, maybe your insurance will waive a portion of your 275 deductible.
I left, vowing never to return to uBreakiFix because they aren't professionals, don't know what they're doing, unwilling to accept responsiblity and aren't customer service friendly. Long story short, I called Asurion insurance and my phone replacement has been shipped at no cost but it's coming to me as a refurbished, not new phone. What a painful experience. ...
