Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Antioch

UPDATED REVIEW - This place is the perfect example on how you can have good food, clean restaurant, good location and still find a way to f-it up.

Came here on a Friday night at around 7:45PM. We got out and as we walked towards the restaurant, an employee unlocks the door and tell us "Drive Thru Only" and quickly closes the door. OK... so I go to the drive thru and they were out of Mash Potatoes, no Cole Slaw and no Green Beans. I ordered an 8-piece crispy dark meat and was told it would be a 25 minute wait if they don't have it. So I asked him why don't you go check which he did but never said anything until we got to the window and he collected payment and handed the food. Even with a single line drive thru, the wait was over 15 minutes! When I got home, I was beyond disbelief... they somehow was able to cram 8 pieces of chicken into one their small boxes. Some of the pieces of skin on the chicken was falling apart, and they gave me the original, not crispy. The large Marconi and Cheese, was only about 75% full, and 25% of the remaining was cheese sauce as if they just poured the remaining sauce in the bucket to make an order. The biscuit had these dark speckles on them as if someone used a dirty tongs for them. We also ordered a large french fries (same size box for their french fries with the 8 pieces of chicken so you can imagine how this looks) and the box was about 75% full, and lot of burnt fries.

I'd always go out of my way to come here for some good fried chicken so it's very disheartening what this place has become. I hope whatever issues you guys are having, get it fixed..

July, 2014 REVIEW: I prefer Popeyes Chicken over KFC. Popeye's chicken is more crispy and juicer but their chicken also are smaller. I also like the wide variety of other foods they have there.

Their jambalaya are good for a quick fix, their cajun rice is tasty. I would stay away from their corn. The shrimp is something I would skip, and their cajun catfish portion are pretty small; you get three strips...

I placed my order with no other customers in drive thru. Ordered 2 meals, popcorn shrimp with Mac and cheese and chicken tenders and mashed potatoes no gravy because I am allergic to it. My order was ready quickly and the staff was friendly. I got my order but didn't check it before I got home. What a mistake!!! The shrimp hadn't been cleaned, sand and poop served with shrimp that should have been called jerky instead of popcorn. Half of the shrimp served was the coating with no shrimp. 3 we're edible. Chicken over cooked, dry and barely swallowable, and the mashed potatoes were smothered in the gravy that I said I didn't want. The biscuits were the best thing I got but were served with no butter. There were no napkins, no utensils, and also no receipt given!!! Even if I didn't drive the 5 miles back to the restaurant, I had no proof of purchase. This was my first and last visit to this restaurant chain. Horrible, disgusting, inedible food not fit...

It is my son that likes their food and the fews time I've eaten it, it's better than KFC but not a lot of challenge in that. I absolutely convinced they train their staff on how to be as rude as they can possibly be. Three separate times, I've had to pull over in the drive through and all I was ordering was fries! The last time I was there, another gentleman waiting showed his receipt and it confirmed, he'd been waiting 25 minutes for his order and the manager got anger at him for telling people that. Yet the counter was full of door dash orders. At least 10 bags. So if you use door dash,your food is on the counter where all the people who are walking in an ordering are standing, their kids are grabbing the bags, you can just image but actual customer, there waiting for 25 minutes are ignored so that door dash food can get cold. Again, they are taught how to provide full circle bad...
