Hunter Street Dog Park (permit required) — Attraction in Apex

Huge dog park with three separate sections (small and large, plus an extra fenced-off section at the other end of the large dog park). I am intrigued by the logic of building a dog park right next to a skatepark, given how many dogs feel about skateboarders, but oh well.

Still a fair amount of sun late in the day, but the trees they planted several years ago are now big enough to provide some shade.

My main complaint is the sand that they've used to fill the park. The pro is that it's a lot less muddy than the previous ground cover. Great large outdoor dog park with separate fenced-in areas for large and small dogs. Permit required through the City of Apex ( must show vaild rabbies vaccine ) to be issued a key card to gain access, must renew annually. Always a good amount of dogs, and it's maintained very well. My dog loves playing with his regular friends in the morning and early evening. Occasionally, a more aggressive dog will cause a scuffle, but overall, all the dogs are friendly.
