This was one of my most disappointing pickup experiences at Food Lion. In the past, I’ve had issues with wrong items, poor substitutions, and even entire bags missing, but today was the worst yet.
Not only were substitutions made for items that were clearly in stock (I confirmed this by going inside and purchasing them myself), but my gallon of milk had a large hole in it. By the time I got home, it was nearly a quarter empty and had leaked over every single item in my order. My trunk is now soaked in milk as well.
It’s hard to believe the associate loading my car didn’t notice such obvious damage. At best, this shows a complete lack of attention; at worst, it feels careless and dismissive of customers’ time and money.
Pickup is supposed to make grocery shopping more convenient, but experiences like this make it harder, not easier. If Food Lion is going to offer this service, it should be done with the same care and standards as...
Read morePeople I know like to hate on Food Lion, but I've always liked it! Prices are great, and I save mad money. Location is convenient, there's always ample parking. I've seen baggers help people out to their cars several times, I used to do that when I worked at Marketplace. I feel that's a great touch.
The only thing I don't care for is that there's no self checkout. I have found self checkout it be great when I have just a few items, and I very rarely make large shopping trips these days. Not a big enough issue to take a star off because it is what it is.
There's not a lot of organic or free range options, but there's not really ever been. I go to Whole Foods or Harris Teeter for those.
