EDIT: The owner response to my comment is extremely disheartening and disrespectful. This is my second time going to Mama Mia's. The first time was a lovely experience. I am not sure if they have me confused with someone else because the comment "this is not the first time you've tried to have items removed from your bill" is completely inaccurate. Second, I had one bite of chicken. I picked the gnocchi out of the dish and only ate that. I acknowledge that I should have asked about the sauce and should have realized the excessive upcharges beforehand. I was polite and was not asking for anything off my bill, but simply for some empathy as I paid over $30 for a dish I didn't eat. I was not rude to the waitress and appreciated her kindness and attentiveness and still left a good tip. Before assumptions are made about a paying customer, you should have your facts right. I live and work in the Apex community and absolutely love supporting businesses in the area. After this experience, I will be sure that people are aware of the customer service they recieve at this establishment.

I typically hate to post bad reviews, but the experience I had needed to be shared. I ordered a make your own pasta with Primavera sauce, chicken, and brocolli. First, they charged an additional $7.00 for 4 small broccoli florets. The chicken was dry. The Primavera sauce is not your typical sauce, it's apparently a red sauce and broth, which was not good. I barely ate any of the pasta and told the waitress. She was not empathetic at all or seemed to care. She brought the check and the pasta I barely touched ended up being nearly $40 with all the up charges. I asked to speak with a manager and he was extremely rude. He took the chicken off, but I still paid $30 for a dish I didn't eat. Very...

Decided to try a new place for dinner. Big mistake!! The rolls were the only thing here that were good. We ordered the fried zucchini appetizer. The waiter brought it out and it was burnt. That was obvious but he left it at the table. We tried to eat it but that wasn’t possible. When we called him over he asked if it was burnt. Duh!! He had another order made which was cooked fine. Nothing about it tasted good. We love fried zucchini. Avoid this. I ordered a Caesar salad with no cheese. It was brought out with cheese. Clearly they are all made ahead of time. We both had pasta dishes. The bolognese was like unseasoned hamburger meat with some marinara sauce. No flavor. They must not believe in spices here. Not even salt and pepper. The other pasta dish had chicken in it and the chicken was low quality with a lot of connective tissue. Finally, we went to pay our bill and tried to use a gift card. Even though this location and the Holly Springs location share one website they would not let us use the gift card from holly springs here. They are owned by different family members. A daughter and a father. Must not get along. Overall a VERY POOR EXPERIENCE. NO CONCEPT OF...

Restaurant was completly empty at 5-5:30pm on a Saturday night and let me explain why. Disgusting. Ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and 2 kids meals. Pizza came out floating in grease. No kids meals (they forgot about those). There was so much grease when I removed a slice from the tray, grease ran off the remaining pieces to fill in the area where the slice was. The cheese (now a congealed mess of grease and cheese) was orange. Just looking at this hot mess of a pizza (if you want to call it that) made my stomach turn. The slice I removed and put on my plate drooped so badly I had to balance it on the spatula and with my hand. I did pick up the slice by the crust and everything just slid off: the cheese, the grease, the pepperoni, the sauce. I should have taken a picture, but I was so disgusted I just stood up and left.

Pizza from Chuck E Cheese is better than this place.

Was this my first time there? No. About 1 year ago my wife and I ate there and the food was terrible…I know, I know its my fault for going back and expecting it to be better…. but I really wanted to give them a 2nd chance. Never again. I am now 0 for 2 here. This place is just terrible. I give it...

We heard great reviews and thought we finally found a Authentic Classy Italian Restaurant... WRONG!  It is sad that it was nothing special and expensive for what we got.  Biggest dissapointment ever! We got seated in a booth next to a table of 6 with a patron super loud, we then get our dipping bread in a "paper bag" really?  Ordered the zucchini fritti and it was over fried, we ordered Chicken Francese and Chicken Parmesan both with Capellini, the Francese got delivered with linguini. Had to reorder the pasta ugh!  I asked for the sauce to be on the side for the Chicken Parm and the waiter reported that the Kitchen cannot honor that request (no class), never have I  been treated like that.  We drove 23 miles one way to have  Chicken parm about 5 1/2 inches in diameter for $19.00 (I can get a Costco 5 lb Roaster for $4.95 , and yes there was cost associated in preparing it).  Well let it be known NOT PLANNING IN GOING AGAIN.

The ambiance and staff were amazing for our lunch date visit. The bread was delicious, however came to us in a paper bag and room temp. Salads were fresh and the ricotta cheesecake was delicious. We were however disappointed in our entrees. Hubby had the lasagna, I the bolognese. The sauce for both were absolutely lacking in seasoning and tasted like straight canned tomato puree. The lasagna had a square slice of white cheese melted on top. The bolognese was loaded with meat which was nice. We hear the pizza is amazing the slices looked massive, so we will come back to try that, but may consider elsewhere for true Italian dishes.

From the minute I walked into the door, the family atmosphere hit me like a wave. The people that manage this place of the highest quality and the food matches it. I had a stromboli which I usually avoid because they turn out gummy and nasty. This place was a complete opposite. The bite of fresh garlic in the crust. The salty nuttiness of the mozzarella, the quality of the pepperoni and thin sliced sausage. Everything deserves the chefs kiss. This restaurant is an hour and a half away from my home in Greenville but well worth it several times over. I will definitely be back.
