I propose this question: Why can a family of 2, 3 or even 6 walk into a restaurant sit down at a table and not have masks on to eat and that is okay. Are there social distancing rules in place for this family? No!! So this happened today in this store and I just want to offer a little piece of common sense at the end of my review: I have been to this store several times and I have never been disappointed until today. I have always found good items here and received exceptional customer service. Although today I went with two of my family members and as we were checking out, we were not able to stand in line to check out together due to social distancing. I understand that due to Covid people should not be close. I get that. I understand that if you are in a store with strangers then you should keep your distance. But today, two employees that work here, approached my family not in a business kind of way but a rude kind of way. Was my family approached with concern or in a calm manner? Absolutely Not! They were all but ordered to keep the 6 feet apart ((even though they were a shopping cart length apart from each other)). Today, both my family members had their masks on, mouth and nose covered, they were at least a shopping cart length apart, BUT were still ordered to adhere to the social distancing rule which is somewhat understandable given the fact of all the COVID mess. What I am disappointed in, is the fact of what my family experienced in your store today. Not because of being approached but how they were approached. If the 2 employees that pounced on them would have been courteous and nice in their approach, my family would have purchased items at this store. Nonetheless, they both put their items down and walked out. I know these 2 employees are probably doing what they are being told to do, but please for the love of GOD use some common sense and courteousness when approaching your customers. Do not make them feel like they are nothing or a hassle to you. If you smile ((even with your mask on)) and speak in low calm tones your customers can tell. They will feel appreciated and It can make a difference in the atmosphere in your store! Plus, you will have...
Read moreHi, I went to this Texas Thrift in search of a finding some cool denim jean pieces, of which the store did have a few of, but I needed to try on 10-15 pairs to find the ones that fit the best (just because that is how vintage denim shopping works). For one, the dressing rooms are shoddy, dirty, and do not offer seating space or any good place to hang my clothes other than the wall because the hangers are placed weirdly in a corner. I can usually forgive that, because it is a thrift store and employees usually have better things to do than worry about the dressing rooms. BUT, this one employee was patrolling the dressing rooms. First, she took a call on the job and said that some sort of scam kept calling her and exclaimed very loudly on the phone. Next, I walked out of my dressing room to grab more jeans out of my cart because I try to only take 5 or 6 pieces in at a time and hang up the ones i tried and didnt like, and she walked into the dressing room and started putting the clothes that I decided to keep on the rack, all the while huffing angrily. I walked up to her and said, respectfully, because people do make mistakes, that she had accidentally taken my clothes, to which she huffed and said “you cant take that many clothes in there”. It was ridiculous, since she could she me going in and out, and obviously the rest were just things i decided to keep. Afterwards, the entire time I was trying everything on, she kept glancing at me very angrily, rolled her eyes at me when I out my clothes back up on the rack, and everytime I left the dressing room she would walk in to survey the “mess” I had made (which was no mess). I am displeased that an employee decided to patronize me at your establishment, since usually I come here and find pretty neat, unique pieces and good deals. I’m genuinely disappointed, but unless some sort of big improvement is made to the staff, then I’m not sure I will want to shop in this unpleasant, patronizing...
Read moreI love this store! They have a huge selection, sale tags (50% off) change every Tuesday. They give you a 30% off regular priced items coupon when you bring in a bag of clothing to donate (make sure you let someone know you've brought in clothing and THEN drop it in the bin by the doors). They only give you 1 coupon a day, so don't bring in all your bags at once :( They have everything categorized by type of item, then size, then color. So, sweaters will be in one section, sized sm/med/lrg/xl/xxl, and pinks/blacks/oranges will all be placed with their colors. Occasionally the staff will get lazy and just put whatever items wherever they feel like it, but it's normally on the very ends of the racks. Sometimes you will find clothing that is extremely overpriced, like I found a pair of jeans that were marked $34, which is just ridiculous since they receive all their items for FREE. Normally pricing is within reason and sometimes even lower than you'd expect. Especially pairing good pricing with your 30% off coupon! Also, if you're into shoes this probably is NOT the place you want to go. None of the shoes are in any kind of order, they're just there. You'll find 5's next to 10's and 8's next to 12's. If you are a shoe lover, BEST PLACE to go is probably Thrift Town on Abrams. They aren't completely organized, but all shoes are in a small area of just SHOES and they have the size CLEARLY labeled in each shoe, so you can identify the size very quickly. Whereas Texas Thrift has them hand-written on a small sticker in the shoe and they're spread out above all the clothes racks. I hope my review helped. I definitely think it's worth a look if...
