Ashland Theatre — Attraction in Ashland

One of the best small theatres in the region. People come from all over the RVA community to watch first premier and exclusive runs of hit movies. They have live performers and more. This past Christmas season, I was outside of the theatre as a volunteer. I was with a friend, and we were greeting people who were coming to see Santa. The visit was free for everyone and so were pictures... Professionally done and digitally captured.

As we were greeting, a couple was walking with a child with special needs. They seemed to really want to go inside, but hesitated. Eventually, they took the chance and went in. They were so thrilled! The way the Ashland Theatre presents Santa is unlike anywhere else. Their child got to see Santa, when in other situations it may not have gone so well.

The first time we stepped into the Ashland Theatre to see the country-rock band American Aquarium, we knew we found something special. We've been back many times since for movies and concerts. The staff always welcomes us and thanks us, goes out of their way to make sure you're having a good time. The ticket and concession prices are affordable, and they have beer, wine and usually one special themed mixed drink to match whatever is playing that night. The theater is an absolute treasure to have in town. I’m so glad this historic theater has been revived and that we all get to enjoy it for everything from movies to concerts, field trips, and parties. It is a wonderful blend of classics and new releases and every genre of music there is. The signature drinks created to match each show make it perfect and unique.
