Upon arrival we were told there would be a thirty minute wait for a table since we were a party of 7 and they only had one table big enough to accommodate us. Which was fine. Once we were brought to the table the waitress was still cleaning the table and we notice an enormous amount of water under our table and in the chairs. When we asked about it she said she dropped a glass, never bothered to mop it up. There was water and food all in our chairs. We sat down and waited at least 20 minutes to get a menu and even longer for a waitress to take our drink order. My son wanted sweet tea and was brought unsweet tea. We let the waitress know and she brought him another sweet tea which again was unsweet. When we said something again she said they are out of sugar. We asked to have our order taken and she told us she couldn’t take our order right now cause she was busy. We finally ordered our food, I ordered the Greek chicken rice bowl. Since they were out of avocado this was my second choice. Once we finally received our food it was literally a bowl of uncooked rice, two small strips of chicken, six cherry tomatoes, no feta cheese as advertised , it was very dry most of the rice was still crunchy, and had no flavor at all. My son ordered a cheese burger and it was equivalent to charcoal. Waitress was very rude. I would definitely consider another restaurant as for my friends and family will never return. Also, so many flies everywhere.

Our server, Michelle, was very kind, attentive, and easy to grab when we needed anything. We came on a Friday evening and were sat right away. Our table was sticky, and had a fly that lingered throughout the meal. The draft beers they had available were IPAs, some IPAs, and another few IPAs. Wished they had more variety in that department. Judging from previous reviews and also the whole 3/4 of a burger I saw left on someone's plate after they had departed, I summized that we shouldn't go for those. We ultimately decided to go for the protein bowls. We ordered a chicken teriyaki and a greek bowl. They each came out very hot, but neither of us were able to put a dent in the amount of rice that was served with the toppings. I found the presentation of my bowl to be a bit odd, as the pineapples were obviously canned and presented whole, while the chicken was diced very small. This created an imbalance as I had to cut my own pineapple when I wish it was diced and the chicken was left more intact. The mens restroom was on-par with a truck stop bathroom. The menu had several typos and grammatical errors that I found lowered the expectations before we even ordered. Overall this place has a lot of potential, but they were lacking in some key elements of a successful execution.

Was told it would be 25 minute wait for table. That turned into 40 minutes. They only have a few tables and they were busy. This was an Ashland Fourth Friday Night so this was understandable. They have a large area in the lobby with no seating. The metal bench out front is missing half a leg. They were out of bacon, ribeye, soup and oysters. We finally ordered something they had. Food took forever to arrive. We ordered a chicken wrap with tater tots. A French dip with Swiss, fries and side of potato salad. The food was absolutely delicious. The potato salad was amazing. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Lower rating mainly due to not having a place for customers to wait for a table and the extremely long time it took for food to arrive. We arrived at 7pm and left at 9pm.

We were disappointed in our lunch experience. The place has a cool atmosphere and we were very promptly greeted and seated when we arrived. We ordered our drinks and meals (our first choice, which was how we had chosen the restaurant to begin with, wasn't available, but we had a backup). It took a long time for the food to arrive. During that time, our waitress visited once and got drink refills for 2 out of 4 of us. When she returned with those drinks, she dropped them and left before the other 2 of us could request refills. When the food finally arrived, the burger, which was ordered well, was bleeding onto the plate, and the flavor described as tasteless, and lower quality than a fast food burger. The tomatoes in the Greek chicken bowl were turned and most significantly, there was ZERO chicken! The shrimp bowl was tasteless other than the shrimp themselves. It contained probably two cups of unseasoned white rice, and a tablespoon each of unseasoned corn and black beans, two thin slices of avocado, and a heaping pile of canned (not at all fresh) mild picante sauce. The last in our party got the turkey Ruben. She made no comment on her meal, as we were treating her for her birthday, I suspect she was being polite because she did compliment her French fries. We had no opportunity to ask for adjustments to our meals, nor refills for the other 2 in our group, as our waitress never once returned to check on us. I'll give her the benefit that with only two waiters, they may have been understaffed, but we definitely had the impression we weren't important. I think there's great potential here, but someone needs to buy spices for the kitchen and either add more waitstaff or encourage the waitress to be more interactive with guests. Perhaps move the FANTASTIC busser up to waiter. He was outgoing, friendly, and welcoming. I'd not recommend this place to friends, nor would I go back for a second visit. It just...

I had not been to Trackside Grill for about 2 years

Back then it was "meh" so wasn't rushing back with the other local options HOWEVER I love the new menu! Chili was superb clearly homemade! My special request for cheese and sour cream and were taken with a smile. Fries were good yet when iI started dunking my fries in the amazing chili, I couldn't help but wonder what some nice gloopy cheese on top would be like?! Although they have a bar, you are not getting typical barfood. My brothers burger was cooked beautifully and just as he asked. Lettuce was crispy and tomato was good.We are picky about our tomatoes in Hanover. My brother thought his wild wild west burger was supposed to jave BBQ sauce yet he enjoyed it without it.

The decor has changed into more of an Ashland Centric theme. The enlarged photographs on the walls were beautiful.

As an equestrian and prior racehorse owner (the racehorse history is deep here) with Eagle Point and a few other successful racing stables within 5 miles, and the new Secretariat monument coming to the center of town it w ould be nice to see win photos from Colonial Downs from local people. I imagine quite a few will travel here off 95, 1 or 54 to see the monument. Perhaps something secretariat themed would be a nice for tourists to take home. A cup, a ribbon, coin or something. With another locally owned business across the street Changing Reins. People com from near and far (Short Pump, Chesterfield. Montpelier..LOL) so I would not loose the equestrian theme. If only in the foyer restrooms or some history on a page in the menu. If you do a little research about the racing industry in Ashland, Hanover and surrounding areas you might be very surprised about what you find ! Sorry for rambling. Just...
