August 2024 update
The new parts of track ride so smooth, you'd think it was a steel coaster. I used to hate on this coaster so much, and for good reason too. But now? Nope, I can't say I hate it I actually enjoy this coaster now.
That being said there are 2 things that really need attention on this coaster; PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE replace the track from the last turn around to the brakes! Everything else is great, but you can tell what needs some TLC.
And second; please for the love of GOD! Get rid of those AWFUL PTC trains, and replace them with Timberliner or Infinity Flyer trains! I'm six feet tall, and rather skinny, and I (of all people) can barely fit in those trains. And I'm as skinny as a bean pole. Timberline trains also do better by navigating the track, instead of PTC trains which let the track guide them (which put much more stress on the track causing premature wear, which you don't want). So to save the track for longer, and have a better ride experience and lower maintence costs, get the Timberliner trains.
Good Job to you King's Dominion. Now retheme backlot in the way I've been...

From the moment that rickety train creaked out of the station, I knew I wasn’t ready — and baby, neither was my scalp. Grizzly doesn’t ride with you; it fights you.
By the first drop, my life decisions flashed before my eyes. By the third turn, my wig said, “You’re on your own, bestie” and made a daring escape into the treetops. I swear I saw it waving at me in the distance like Wilson from Castaway.
The airtime? Illegal. The turns? Violent. The vibes? Immaculate. I walked off that coaster looking like a plucked chicken, laughing hysterically, and feeling alive for the first...
Read moreI absolutely love the Grizzly. Some people say that it's rough and I agree that it can be perceived that way. This is a product of yesteryear. This coaster is high on the lateral forces, the ones that throw you to one side or the other. I, for one, love this coaster because of those very forces. Laterals aren't popular anymore. I appreciate being able to experience them still on Grizzly. Grizzly adds to the variety of coasters at Kings Dominion and I hope it remains around for quite some time. I wouldn't be opposed to some re-tracking from GCI to make it smoother but RMCing this coaster would destroy...
