Maybe I encountered the place in a off day. The woman on counter was... Rather condescending and a bit insulting. It was the unenjoyable purchase experience I associate with boutiques. Including the snooty behavior towards consignment inquiries and more concern with packaging than anything else. A simple no would have been fine, you didn't have to be so rude about it all while I paid for my purchase. And you certainly didn't have to continue the situation long after I tried to get you to just drop it.

Would have avoided the place all together if it didn't come up in a search for "consignment stores". I a boutique I wasn't looking for that snooty rude boutique experience . I was just looking to enjoy consignment shopping and ask the possibility of dropping some things off. Because that's how a consignment store works. I love Dovecote! It is such a fun store and is very reasonably priced! It is my go to store for gifts for any occasion from babies to retirement parties. Jessica Vukmir, the owner, has also been such a huge help! I DO NOT like to shop and she always makes it a fun and personable experience. Absolutely in love with this boutique located in the heart of Aspinwall. Went in hoping to find gifts for the mother’s in my life and came out with gifts for myself, my young daughters and the mother’s on my list. The selection is unique and it has a super cozy feel. The staff working there are incredibly friendly and I left with my items wrapped up in tissue and placed in a cute bag with holiday ribbon! I will definitely be visiting Dovecote again during this holiday...
