Dragon Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Verona

I've been coming to eat here since I was a little girl. We used to drive 30 mins from where I lived just to go here. The food is always so fresh and cooked to your liking if it wasn't exactly how you would eat it off the menu. Then when I was going into 6th grade we moved to the same town and ate there more then ever lol. Its always been great the worst issue I've had was a mistake in the order once and I noticed it once I got home and called them. They had no issue in fixing it immediately and at no additional cost and with out attitude even adding some money off my next order and a free order of something when I came back to pick up the correction. The food has ALWAYS been fresh and cooked to order. I've always been kindly asked and explained to how I would like the food made and what I want with it. The service has always been great, the price is easy on the wallet while portions on the larger side and most important in my eyes, the store has always been clean. Even for the few years that they had a buffet open on the other side of there store. If I had to say one bad thing about it I would say that I would like to see delivery added one day so those times I had or will have no car I dnt have to walk in the rain or snow again! I know no one or place can be perfect all the time so I would ask if you had a bad experience or know of someone who has please give it one more shot with a open mind. Now I know of the family on a personal level since going to high school with one of their daughters and that makes me a little more knowledgeable the the typical consumer of this particular restaurant. So with that being said I would say if you like this style food and find yourself in the area, Give it a shot. Its great food, big meals made to your liking and its a very fair price for the amount of food...

I have no idea how this place is so highly rated. I won't lie, I was excited to go pick up my order as great Chinese is tough to find in Pittsburgh. The Orange chicken was okay. Soggy, breaded, dark meat chicken in orange sauce. The steamed dumplings are a mixed bag. The dumpling sauce was very weak. Not the usual tangy-sweet ginger/chili concoction that you find other places. The dumpling filling was great. Fresh pork and green onion, however they were under-cooked and most of the dough was raw. (I still ate the filling mixed with rice. haha) Pork lo mein was a tad over-cooked and had almost no flavor. Just a box of mushy flavorless noodles. I sampled. Stirred. Sampled again and threw it out. The curried beef with onions- So bad. The beef was that strange, inflated, rubbery, fat-beef that some places use to cut costs. No flavor. The sauce was disgusting. It had only the slightest hint of curry flavor and was extremely slimy. I don't want to be unpleasant, so I will not mention what it reminded me of. Also, the ratio of onion to beef was roughly 80-20.

Final word: I may go there again in a pinch, but I will not buy anything they can mess up. I'd get General Tso or some other battered dish and maybe try the...

Update: Please see new pics...I gave this place a 2nd chance. Wrong move, we ordered $52 worth of food. Some of which was sweet and sour chicken combo w/veg fried rice and 2 orders cream cheese wontons. This place is under new management &don't cook nor treat their customers the same. The veg fried rice used to have peas, carrots, bean sprouts &onions. Now there's only onions. Instead of cream cheese wontons they gave me fried wontons w/pork in it. Not only was it nasty but the wonton skins were stale and tasteless. When i called to tell them, the woman said thats what you ordered. I told her its circled on my menu. She said "oh" thats it! I demanded to speak to someone else he said he would give me only ONE order back. I will NEVER give them my money again!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! I ordered here 11/6/2021. He read my order back to me correctly, it was written on the menu correctly. And EVERYTHING was completely wrong! I called and he acted like it was no big deal. When we brought the corrected food back home I then realized my large order of fried rice with onions was just a small plain white rice! I didn't bother calling back!...
