While the staff here is generally nice, if you are a Pokemon player, there is little to no interest on their part in providing or keeping up supply. The talk about "lots of prizes" for their pre-realease things, but it doesn't materialize. Some comment that there is a lot of Pokemon...there is not. The case rarely changes, and there is only one shelf for higher-end cards. I have repeatedly asked for their notebook with Pokemon in it to look at for purchase, and the same excuse is used week after week (6 weeks now). "We are really busy and it is buried under....." If you like Magic, they really work to support that game, nothing for Pokemon though. The only thing that keeps us coming back is the league that is there and the people that play in Wicked Woopers. If that league moved, we would move in a heart beat. Other than that, there is no real interest in promoting Pokemon players. The sell boxes (you can get them far cheaper elsewhere), but individual cards are never organized, rarely if ever out, and as I said, though they host the group, there is little interest in supply...
Read moreDragon Star Hobbies is an awesome place for everything Magic the gathering, Pokémon, D&D and just about every other board or card game you could want. From 3d models to a huge selection of cards they have everything you could ever want under one roof. Plenty of gaming tables and tons of events every month. They also have a decent variety of snacks and drinks. They also buy sell and trade cards. Their cash prices for cards you sell is very competitive and better than any shop in North East GA. They also give great store credit rates on items you sell to them. I am so glad we found them. I have not been in a better shop. It is deff a gem tucked away in Athens and it's deff worth the trip. They are honest and they give you great deals on all your items you are wanting to sell. It is a wonderful atmosphere and if filled with wall to wall merch! I highly recommend you stop by and say hello and stay a while and while your at it challenge the guys behind the counter to a...

You hire people who know how to buy, sell, trade, run events and make sure everybody is happy. I've only been here a handful of times but each time the associates have been very kind and nice to me and even help me low-key build one of my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh decks of all time. An Exodia deck.
When it comes to hobby shops, the main key feature is to make sure that your patreons are happy, well received, and understood. So far each time I have come here that's what this store has done. They may be small but they're next to some great places to eat so if you are a nerd and you play pokƩmon, Yu-Gi-Oh, magic, 40K, this place is fantastic for that.
The only thing that bugs me is that their location isn't bigger. They...
