I like sushi. Plain and simple. When I heard that this was opening only a few minutes form my apartment I must say I was very very happy. I finally got the eat some of their sushi last night and I was rather pleased.
The atmosphere of the establishment is pretty casual. When you walk in you are greated by the traditional "irasshaimase" welcome. This I find welcoming some call it cheesey but you can't beat it in my opinion.
Next you find your self infront of a counter with menus and pencils to place your order. I am not too big a fan of this because I have to go and keep repaying if I want to get more sushi instead of just building up a tab at the itamae's bar.
Each order of sushi comes with a bowl of onion soup which is in my opinion pretty good.
After about a minute or two I recieved my maki and squid nigiri. The assortment comes on a wooden tray/platter which I found fun and endearing. The sushi itself was not plated very well but I can not say that this is the standard as to my single time patronage of Inoko Sushi Express. The nigiri was good as well as the maki. Only complaint would be that the rice did not hold together very well on the nigiri. It was delicious though. Very delicious
All in all I found this to be a great place to find good sushi at a great price and I will definately be...
Read moreI so badly wish to give inokos all 5 stars because we typically always have a great experience. But thought i should share what happened last night.
My boyfriend and I ordered our food ahead of time and left to go get It immediately after I hung up the phone,...we live maybe 3 minutes from there. When we got our food It wasn’t hot. And the sautéed veggies were barley cooked.
I had to take all our vegetables and re-sauté them. We spent $27 last night. And they shorted us on meat also. I took pictures of everything.
I don’t want to be rude because we LOVE this place. We’ve never ordered ahead. So it’s like the night crew when we ordered ahead knows that we won’t ever really know how “fast” the food was made. Tasted like It sat and then when ordered they cooked It. It wasn’t fresh at all. Which was disappointing.
But there’s no email or anything to send to a manager of inokos. And I’d just like her to know and or if we’d get a refund or have them re try cooking is a $27 meal properly.
Again we love the place but highly disappointed in our experience ordering ahead. We will never...
Read moreIt doesn't look like it from the outside, but this is secretly some of the most authentic Japanese food you'll find in Athens. Order udon, and you'll get udon much like what you might find in Japan -- not some kind of western fusion dish like you might find at some other places.
You can also find standard American-style "hibachi" stuff, and it's pretty good as well. But personally, I like their sushi best: there is a lot of western-style rolls mixed in with more traditional nigiri sushi as well, and all of it is good in my opinion.
Word of warning: this review pertains to the Inoko Sushi Express in the shopping center near Kroger. It doesn't apply to the other Inoko restaurants in town. I believe (though I'm not certain) that those are under...
