Well this is s facility that allows people to do community service at! So if you are allowing people to complete their community service they are trying to better themselves and really need lots of encouragement. My partner said that he did not in anyway feel welcome at this establishment. It is not your place to make people feel worse than how they are already feeling. He said not one employee starting with the lady Manager even introduced themselves to him. The manager told some guy to take him outside and have him pick up trash. Well he said not once did anyone check on him in this 90 degree weather. But the manager did send a bottle of water to the guy that was weeding. How could you be so rude and feel good about yourself. He said after 3 hours of this treatment he decided to leave and said he will never return. So i have read all your previous reviews and it sounds like 90% of your reviews say that this rudness is very common at this business. So i just want someone to know that a person that has an addiction this would have pushed anyone to walk out and go turn towards their addiction. So i hope someone above this manager will take a look at each of these comments. Just kindness will go a long ways and this will make your employees to be happy to work and customers will keep coming back. Please take care of the top bad seed so no more negative gets spread...
Read moreThe owner refused to allow an autistic child’s service animal in. We had all the right paperwork from the state and she was wearing a rabies tag. The cashier confronted us and kicked us out while also blocking the exit. The manager, “Amanda” said that she is a “retired” animal control officer and that the animal would have to be registered with the city and she needed proof of that. This is a 4lb mini schnauzer that was in a carrying case, not touching the floor or any property of the store. She is highly trained and only jumps out if she is needed to do her job. I escorted the child and the dog outside to the car because she began to become upset/embarrassed with the initial confrontation and I went back in to discuss the matter and possibly clarify, as we just wanted to do some “thrift shopping” after an appointment. We are not residents of Athens and will not be back. This is complete lack of “best interest of the child” and general bad human behavior. No need to berate and chastise someone because they’re different than you.
We hope you have the day you all deserve. The cashier wouldn’t give her name after causing such a scene. These people...
Read moreWe have alway enjoyed coming here when we visited the area. The staff has always been helpful and courteous. That is until today. When i am handed something to look at for purchasing i should be able to do so without actually being accused of taking something out of the back where the employees work. I was told they were being held for someone they had called. I didnt know they had a call list to notify if something came in. After being questioned on how and where i got the items because they weren't supposed to be on the floor and was removed from my possession and handed directly to the person that was called and told after they got done i could look at what was left. Not a way to talk to customers and treat them. Would really like an apology from the employee that treat me this was. I still thing the manager and staff at front desk is great. I went back to talk to the lady and get her name but no one seemed to know where she went or even who she was. Very unprofessional. I have never been behind the employees door but the lady who purchaded them has. I witnessed it myself as i was leaving the store. I left feeling like i had attempted to...
