Allison McTigue Salon — Attraction in Atlanta

Prior to the pandemic, my previous stylist, based on my request, dyed my hair to a very platinum blonde color. However, to get to that color, it took all of the health from my hair. During my last visit with her, she recommended cutting it extremely short, which I insisted I did not want. I preferred to take other steps to make it healthy rather than cut it short at that time. We discussed finding a salon that installed extensions and then cutting it (this current salon did not do extensions). Unfortunately, there was a “misunderstanding,” and my hair was cut short.

Shortly following this situation, the pandemic happened, so salons were closed and/or not accepting new clients. Due to this, over several months, my unhealthy hair/color grew out, and to me, my cut just made my hair look even worse. Prior to all of this, I always had “good” hair. This was no longer the case.

Around August or September 2020, I finally decided to find a hair salon that would install extensions while helping my natural hair regrow its health. This is where Allison comes in. I scheduled a consultation with her, and within a few minutes of meeting her, I knew that she was the one that would help me achieve these goals. Let me say, I knew within a few minutes, but I think it took her a little longer than that to decide that SHE was the one as it clearly was going to be a BIG commitment to accomplish what we needed to accomplish. Luckily, after Allison and I spoke for a short while, and I agreed to follow the instructions that she gave me to get my hair back to a healthy state, i.e., no bleach, water filter, etc., we agreed to take this journey together.

It has been approximately six months, and my natural hair has grown at least six inches, thanks to Allison’s conditioning treatments and other tips. However, for the last six months, I’ve been wearing the most beautiful, quality extensions that match my colored hair so closely that no one can tell they aren’t my real hair. My new hair color, no, it’s not platinum, and my extensions look amazing! My natural hair is growing back its health (six inches at least), and I couldn’t be happier. The wonderful thing that has happened in such a short time is that my hair has grown enough that I no longer NEED to wear extensions, but I love them so much that I’ve chosen to continue wearing them! I’m kind of obsessed with how much easier it is to have good hair days with them in!

All thanks to Allison and the Allison McTigue salon! Not only have I found a hairstylist for life, but I’m pleased to say that Allison isn’t just my hairstylist; she’s my friend.

THE BEST, MOST NATURAL GORGEOUS HAIR EXTENSIONS IN ATLANTA!! I researched best hair extensions in Brookhaven and Allison's Salon popped up. I went to meet with her b/c I wanted to get extensions put into my hair for my upcoming wedding in Scotland. When I met with Allison for consultation she wanted to see my dress so she could judge the best coloring for my hair & extensions. She decided to lighten my hair a bit so it'd match up more with my beautiful dress. She had a vision. I loved that she a vision so I went with it, and I was so happy I did! Allison selected the most beautiful and perfect extensions for me and gave me the BEST wedding hair I could've ever dreamed of. She applied them amazingly and you couldn't even see where the extensions were in my hair - it was truly mind-blowing and AMAZING!!! When I got to Scotland my wedding hair stylist couldn't BELIEVE I had extensions in. She was so amazing & impressed with them. She said, "These are absolutely THE BEST hair extensions I've ever seen! I went to an extension consultation and was recommended hand tied extensions as I have a large amount of hair loss on the right side from radiation for Cancer treatment. I was quoted $350 for installation and paid $900+ for the hair. The stylist ended up charging $550 for the install. The first night I had strings hanging out and the bottom row was falling down. I went in 2 days later for a fix and she accidentally cut the string which ended up causing the row to fall out again on my way home. The third time I went in for a fix she super glued the knots which caused rod-straight strings to stick out of the hair & scalp irritation. I scheduled a hair cut to trim the extensions hoping that the lighter hair would pull less. I was met with a frustrated stylist who asked the owner in front of me if she had to cut my hair. I left with a $85 cut and damp hair curled by another stylist. After 3 weeks of extension issues the owner and stylist decided my hair couldn’t handle the extensions. They removed them and suggested tape ins instead. The tape ins would be $380 and they would comp the install. I couldn’t justify throwing away $900+ extensions after just 3 weeks so I ended up going to another salon and got extensions installed with micro beads. I’ve had zero issues & no pulling. Allison McTigue is very kind but I’m frustrated that I invested so much for a recommended extension method that had so many issues, wasn’t color matched & was charged so much for the install itself. *I tipped each time I went in for an extension fix. *Allison refunded the cost of the tape-ins when I canceled my installment appointment 24...
