After a successful night in Buckhead a quick stop for a bite of breakfast turned South quick (no pun intended) We arrived after 3AM which is when bars close in a Buckhead so we expected a busy Waffle House; However most Waffle House locations handle rush hours very well. This location has a security guard to handle the intoxicated crowd and keep order to the process of seating patrons. With such a large amount of staff on hand one would expect this establishment to be able to handle crowds effectively and efficiently but our experience was much different. After being told a 20 minute wait to sit down we let the ladies sit in the chairs by the wall while we and the boys headed outside to chat and enjoy the fresh air and Atlanta night. After about 20 minutes a table was open and it was our turn to eat so we waited another five minutes for our waitress to bus the table. As soon as the table was clean and clear we were told by the security guard that we could have a seat. The five of us filed into our seats and passed around menus. After waiting ten minutes the table next to us had their food come out and one of our friends became a little irritated we had not even been acknowledged with waters, table settings, or our drink order. She turned and waited until she made eye contact with our waitress and asked, "Can we have some service?" What ensued next can be described as nothing short of an angry tirade. Our waitress named, Vanessa, came to the table and starting throwing, yes, throwing silverware down on the table. She grabbed the order pad and turned to our friend and said, "Do you know what y'all want since you aren't supposed to be sitting here and y'all rushing me?" She proceeded to be extremely rude while asking all of us what we wanted but not writing any of it down. After she fake took our order she walks away and tells the security guard to remove our friend because she called her a "B----" which is not true. Obviously doing his job he comes over and tells her to leave for "being extremely rude to the waitress" being a gentleman one of the boys leaves with her to wait while we try and order some to-go food. So she comes back to the table and asks" Are y'all gonna order any food or y'all gonna leave?" I said, well we kinda need to get it to go now." To which she says, "I don't do to-go orders y'all need to go to the cash register if you want it to go." All right then. Instead we just ordered the food dine in, and just planned to ask for to-go boxes when the food arrived. About five minutes more she brings three waters instead of the OJ and ChocoMilk we had ordered. To top it off there is a bug in my water. Not wanting to get yelled at further I was just going to leave it, but my friend decides to take it back up and her response was not apologetic but instead, "Oh, that wasn't intentional. I'll get you another." Hmmm interesting response. After about ten minutes the food comes out, no water, no drinks. She places the food down then pulls the checks and bolts before we can ask her for the boxes so we pushed the food around the plate and waited another ten minutes to ask for to go boxes and we left. After forcing our friends to eat lukewarm to go orders and feeling like a verbal assault had just taken place, I have taken a blood oath to never return to this specific Waffle House until something is changed in regards to the staff. To work at a busier location one would think that one must prove themselves at another busy location before being allowed to work at what I believe to be one of he busiest Waffle Houses in Atlanta after three AM. Tossing paying customers and treating people in this way makes the franchise as a whole look bad and my experience at many of the Waffle Houses in GA has been quite the opposite of our experience this past evening. For the verbal assault and extremely rude disservice I received, I have chosen to give this location one...
Read moreI am a regular at WH. This place is not up to WH standards. The server didn't know what steaks were available. He said sirloin but the cook said only TBONE. The server stood right in front of me while I was deciding. I was hungry so I just got 2 eggs, grits (horrible) and that was all. Afterwards, I had to go across the street to Landmark Diner to get good service and real food. Grits- warm, not hot, very runny and literally poured all on my plate. I have been to this WH hundreds of times and in the past, they were great. 2 ladies were leaving when I went in because they said that the server was trying to get them to order from the express menu. Waffle House- You are an international success because of your choices and qualified staff. Do better !!!! Bring back the full menu, listen to your customers and stop trying to cut corners. You will always be the top choice for after bar eating or weekend mornings for breakfast for out of town family. You will lose more customers if you keep cutting corners. Go with what made you successful. Otherwise, the delivery ops will take your business away. In this case, Landmark Diner is across the street. For 3 dollars more, I got 2 eggs, sausage and coffee. I could have gotten more but the point is, stop resting on your rumpus and go back to being the best all around restaurant around. Your staff deserves your commitment and your customers demand it.
I drive for Lyft and I will encourage Landmark over this WH every time until you fix the problems. I have riders that often repeat how bad WH is getting and especially this WH. Just because you are next to a popular club doesn't mean you will continue to be the top choice. I know that the people that eat there do so our of necessity. They go so some place else if they can. Many times, another WH. Come on folks. DO BETTER! STAY TRADITIONAL. !!! I would be more than happy to talk with you about these issues. I don't want anything but better service and a return to the best all around eatery late night, breakfast with family or a quick lunch...
Read moreI will start by saying I've worked in the service industry for 17 years, and have been to Waffle House literally thousands of times and this location is the worst. I was there for nearly 20 mins before they took my order. The entire duration of my stay I overheard the cook complain repeatedly about being behind (it wasn't busy and maybe he should take his earbuds out and focus on food) and observed him flat ignore servers. The waitress on duty Viv (after hiding in the back for quite some time) was scowling and shaking her head at customers. She also more than once answered her cell phone on the floor while ignoring new guests. Finally it took nearly an hour to get food. The food well let's just say the lukewarm sandwich and cold hashbrowns baffled me because they had plenty of time to cook them. To say that I am dissatisfied is a gross understatement, I suggest anyone with a concept of time to avoid this location entirely. Or if you're a fan of Waffle House like I am this location will...
