While in the Georgia area, I wanted the ATL experience and get my short natural hair done in a relaxed style. After searching for a few days, I decided to contact Gerald and made an appointment with him. Upon receiving my appointment confirmation, I was contacted by Gerald via text message. We had a nice conversation about my hair, I sent a photo upon request, and from there the appointment date was confirmed. On the day of the appointment (6:45pm) , I arrived 15 minutes early and advised Gerald upon my arrival. There was a client in his chair and one in the waiting area. She and I chatted for a few, around 20 minutes later, she proceeded to the back. At that point, I was wondering how long was I going to wait? 6:45pm came and passed.... I waited patiently thinking that Gerald would give me a courtesy update, even apologize for having me wait. NOPE!! not once did anything of the such occur. 7:15pm came, no contact.... 7:30pm came, still no contact. At that time, I was ready to text Gerald and ask for a refund as he required "new clients" to make a $50 deposit. 7:45pm came and FINALLY, Gerald came to the waiting area to bring me to the back. Fast forward, Gerald worked his magic and I really did like how he styled my hair. When I arrived home, I noticed that there was a section of hair near my right temple that was not even touched with the flat iron!!!! Even with the lack of communication in the beginning, I still gave him a 30% TIP prior to leaving. Hopefully, others will have a better experience than I. For this reason, the rating...

I came in for an amino acid treatment. The product/brand he used was fine but the problem was his application was wrong and I unfortunately found out the hard way too late. First he combed the product through as he was applying it and it was so much pulling. Per the product instructions it should be smoothed on like similar to how you appy a relaxer. Then he put me under a hot dryer for at least 20-30 min. The instructions specifically say do not put under dryer. You're supposed to just sit with a plastic cap on-- that's all. I feel like a fool for not researching this before but when someone is charging $300 for a service you want to trust they will do the right thing the right way. Please don't let the same happen to you. As a result my hair broke off and dried out because he over processed my hair. Now I'm working to get it back right. He may be great at other hair services but not the amino acid service...
