This was my first and last time walking into Worthmore Jewelers. I went in to purchase a simple pair of 8mm 14k gold ball earrings, with the full intention of returning same day to buy a $15,000–$20,000 chain as part of celebrating my birthday month.
Instead of being treated like a valued customer, I was profiled, disrespected, and had my time stolen. After presenting my American Express Business card and valid Georgia ID—with my face physically standing in front of them—the associate, Gina Morris, stared at my card and ID as if it were fake. She then walked off with both my ID and card without asking permission, handing them to Harris Botnick, the owner. For over 12 minutes, I stood there while Harris shined lights and magnifiers on my ID as if I were committing fraud.
What they didn’t realize is this: I had my other phone recording the entire experience from start to finish. Not only that, but I was on the phone with my COO and our company President during the purchase. So there is no question about what happened—it wasn’t just me, and it wasn’t my word against theirs. Everything is documented and witnessed.
When I calmly addressed what was happening, Harris tried to hide behind passive-aggressive comments like, “We’re just trying to help you.” Let’s be clear: you were not helping me. I was helping your business by choosing to spend my hard-earned money there. To make matters worse, he asked me, “What do you do?”—as if that determined whether I was worthy of shopping in his store. That question was irrelevant, disrespectful, and exposed the profiling for exactly what it was.
And then, after finally processing my purchase, they had the nerve to try to upsell me on more jewelry. After the way I was treated, I knew right then: I don’t want another thing from this store, not even the bag, and I will never step foot inside Worthmore Jewelers again.
I stayed calm, mature, and professional—because it’s my birthday month and I wanted the earrings. But the truth is, no customer should ever have to experience profiling, suspicion, or disrespect while spending their money. Customer service costs nothing. Whether a customer is spending $1, $10,000, or $100,000, professionalism and integrity should be mandatory from the moment you open your doors until the moment you close them.
So let’s be clear: • White people are not the only ones with American Express cards. • White people are not the only ones with money. • Not all Black people commit fraud.
I have been running legitimate corporations and businesses for over 25 years. We built our companies from the ground up with integrity, discipline, and respect. I wake up every day and run our businesses the right way. For Worthmore Jewelers—through Harris Botnick and Gina Morris—to treat me this way was unacceptable.
When businesses do right, I give them their flowers. When they do wrong, it must be called out. This needed to be said publicly. If you value customer service, integrity, and respect, be very careful where you shop.
I appreciate your existence. Have a WEALTHY day!

Read moreMy girlfriend and I first came in to "window shop" for engagement rings. We were introduced to Glenn when we arrived and he toured us through our different options. I left that day knowing exactly what my lady would like from a big picture standpoint.
I came back several times over the next few months, as I selected a setting, and then a diamond, and went through the process of having the ring assembled, appraised and purchased.
She LOVED the ring! SLAM DUNK! Thanks Glenn!!!
As we prepare for our wedding, we have been back several times for Glenn to help us purchase / create the following items: Custom Earrings for her from family heirloom Custom Wedding band for her from family heirloom Wedding band for myself.
The custom items turned out FLAWLESSLY! ANOTHER SLAM DUNK!! Thanks AGAIN, Glenn!!!!
For the custom earrings, I wanted to shout out the incredible work by Worthmore's in-house jeweler Trey!
A few specific reasons why we like working with Worthmore and Glenn:
Extremely reliable and consistent - if Glenn says he's going to be at the store / send you an email / follow up on something, he gets it done. They are very good here about receipts for jewelry you are leaving with them, keeping track of your project, and all that kind of stuff.
Low pressure - jewelry shopping can sometimes feel like car shopping, and I have never felt this way at Worthmore. I appreciate that I am never pressured into adding expensive gimmicks or extra items to my purchase.
Quality Expertise - the folks at Worthmore are experts in gemology, well versed in the jewelry business, and experienced in design. Glenn was able to offer a lot of guidance on what would work and what wouldn't based on his experience in the business.
They do carry both lab-made and mined diamonds, and the pricing seems fair. I'm sure you can penny-pinch elsewhere, but here you certainly won't regret the product or the service!
If my soon-to-be wife has anything to do with it, I'm sure we will be back here many times over the course...
Read moreI googled jewelry stores near me to get several gold chains of varying value appraised and to get a couple repaired. Their reviews and proximity led me to them and I was blown away by their professionalism and expertise over the subsequent weeks of getting my jewelry needs handled.
The experience of getting pieces appraised was very in-depth and fairly priced given how thorough the analysis was. After that, the two chains I wanted to have repaired were done beautifully, also at fair prices. One of the repair processes revealed tons of tiny clothing fibers stuck in the very complex gold chain. They had already finished the repairs and for all intents and purposes, their part of the deal was done. But they still offered to put the chain back in the queue get it meticulously cleaned out at no extra charge. Amazing.
Beyond the treatment of the jewelry and my needs with that, every member of the staff I interacted with was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They even offered sodas and snacks while you waited. You can tell it’s a cohesive unit of people who work there and they really seem to love what they do. That joy and passion, to me, carries over in how they interact with customers.
The slew of 5 star reviews they have, I now know, were earned by every single person who left them and I am more than happy to now add mine. I would recommend them...
