Lack of communication throughout his office. Lack of interest in keeping up with or responding to patients. I needed a Nerologist after experiencing a Hyper Thyroid Storm, seizures, encephalitis, face blindness, hallucinations, confusion, loss of movement and response. After getting an EEG & EKG test. I reached out through MyChart to have my results explained to me. His office told me to get a primary care doctor to explain the test results. My primary dr performed some tests again and explained what they could. They suggested to reach out to the Nerologist again. They said he is suppose to explain the Nero test results to me. He didn't explain them. Later, I had to get surgery. My pre-testing nurse told me to reach out to my Nerologist to let him know. He responded with "tell the surgeon to look at my notes about medications to avoid". I did leg work and passed information along to surgeon and his team. After surgery, my pharmacy ran out of my antiseizure meds. I reached out to him through MyChart, under "prescription question", his office responded with this message three days later "If your pharmacy ran out, you have to go to urgent care. MyChart is intended for brief and routine questions you may have about your care and may include: test results. MyChart should not be used for long or urgent discussions regarding your condition or care". Dr Qiu's office has been no help to me through this recovery process. Dr. Qiu has not been very responsive. I am asking questions to reasonable concerns. To respond to patients like they are annoying you is ridiculous. They claimed MyChart is intended to reply to questions about test results. Which they have proved to be unresponsive to when I asked about my test results. MyChart gives you the option to select "prescription question" before sending a message. I had my 6 month follow up appointment. Dr Qiu seemed to have no idea I recently had surgery despite sending him a MyChart message about my surgery and safety...
Read moreFOLLOW UP The office commented on my first review below and said that my complaint had been escalated, and provided an email for me to contact (see their response). I wrote to that email address and never heard back. I also called the office and requested my copayment back, and to issue a complaint. I was told they were once again “escalating” this and would have a manager call back. Guess what - I still haven’t heard back. Piedmonts definition of escalation is to ignore you. I left a similar review on Piedmonts official website and the review has been removed. Avoid this practice. Something is seriously wrong with this situation.
ORIGINAL REVIEW The entire experience was awful. The doctor was rude, uncaring, didn’t provide any answers, spoke so fast that I had to ask him to repeat himself several times, actually said to me “that’s not what I asked you” when I tried to answer one of his questions, used medical terminology three times and I had to ask him what it meant, etc. Told me “that’s not what we are talking about right now” when I was trying to explain my cognitive symptoms. I feel angry and will call my insurance company to tell them what happened and to request they not pay for services. Do NOT see this doctor. I feel as if he didn’t like me and there may have been some form of discrimination happening during my...
Read moreDr. Qiu's bedside manner was quite poor. My appointment felt hurried, and I left feeling unsatisfied. As we were departing, he mentioned that I should arrive on time for my next visit. We got there at 7:40 a.m. for an 8:00 a.m. appointment, but the nurse at the front desk didn’t ask me to check in online (My Chart)until 8:05 a.m., after I inquired about what I needed to do while waiting. I pointed this out to Dr. Qiu, showing him my parking ticket with a time stamp of 7:32 a.m., and he simply nodded and walked away. The front desk staff seemed unaware of the referrals the doctor had recommended; I had to remind them, even though they were checking their screens. Other patients leaving echoed my frustration, feeling their visits were a waste of time. I have never been so disappointed with a doctor's visit before. I will definitely be switching doctors, as this experience was a significant inconvenience. My arm remains very sore, and my fingers are still numb. I trust that God will continue to...
