Cermak Fresh Market — Attraction in Aurora Township

Went in with family and when I was at the check out lane they had told my family it was the wrong cheese deal so I went back with another family member to get the proper cheese and my family member was talking amongst herself with me and we came back only for a worker to come up and ask if their was a problem with her female manager and got in my family members face aggressively saying stuff which is highly inappropriate for the business and as an adult to be acting like that with customers as none of my family members even said anything to the female manager or even came up to her face to face. Very unprofessional to not have workers going back to get the proper products for valued customers as it’s a norm at any big chain store and regular store for employees to go back and grab the right products for customers. Highly unprofessional for a worker to be arguing with customers and getting in their faces. Will be reporting to better business bureau. I’ve worked at jobs that pertained to being short staffed and short handed and still went out of my way to grab stuff for customers. If the female manager can walk to a lane then she can most definitely walk elsewhere as well as the female worker who got in my family members face. I have been shopping here since I was a child and have never had a bad experience until now. Please train your workers better and let them know that people are aloud to talk amongst themselves anywhere you go. Customers Talking amongst themselves is not the same as getting in a managers face as my family member did not go up to that manager after leaving to get a different cheese my family member simply walked past and was talking to their self. The store is massive and offers specialty items that you may not find at other stores. The cashiers are always nice and fast. It may sound silly, but I love the variety of the music they play especially the 80’s and around Christmas time. It’s a little loud, but it makes shopping fun. The produce department is huge and very organized. The deli is decent and priced well. I am a little hesitant when I buy meat here, as it can be a hit or miss as far as quality and flavor especially during the holidays. I really think it’s because of the massive quantities they have to provide. We love the bakery and buy their fresh sweetbreads weekly, although it has been a little off the last year or so. The cakes look beautiful and they sell a ton of them, but they used to taste a lot better in my opinion. I just bought a tres leches cake which was ok, but the slice of tiramisu I got had a very strong maple flavor in it which was weird. I think there may be some confusion there on the ingredients. Terrible service. Came in at 9:59 pm and they said they were closed when the sign says they close at 10:00 pm. Most stores will let you in before closing time and it is understood to hurry up (besides, there were at least 10 other customers still shopping). I was in and out in one minute, therefore, I was out by 10:00 pm.

They are more worried about going home on time than serving a customer and making the company more money. The young man at the door had let me in but a young black girl and a middle age hispanic male (seemed to be a manager) was telling me they were closed. I said it is 9:59 pm and I would make it quick (and I did). I got my one item, thought about the horrible service, and decided to just put it back.

Note, I spend upwards of $500 a month on food, but I will never return to this store. It was my first and last time there. I recommend you not shop at a place that has management who is more concerned about punching clocks than serving customers. How do you think they would...
