Julie and Felix have been. nothing short of AMAZING! They are the most patient, knowledgeable, accommodating sales people I have ever had!!! I am a horrible customer I’m picky and extra and they take it all in stride and welcome me back everytime! Working with them has been one of the best experiences I’ve had jewelry shopping!!!
Update Felix is still amazing unfortunately Julie has been replaced by a “manager” named Derrick who is horrible!!! Went in to talk to Felix got my ring inspected by another employee and they said my stone was loose so we sent it in to get it fixed and soldered. I told the employee to send my finished ring to Algonquin store cause it’s closer in the meantime I ended up buying a bracelet that had to be ordered so Felix and I decided I’d just pick up ring and bracelet together. Somehow that memo got lost in translation and so did my 7 1/2 carat ring!!!! It was sent to Aurora store first then according to Derrick (who was not sympathetic to my situation at all) that it was sent from their store to the Algonquin store!!! I call Algonquin young lady who answered said it should be here in a couple days!!! Why would it take days I have no idea. So here’s Thursday 8/7/2025 still no calls from anyone at any store about my ring (Felix was on vacation and still keeping in touch) I call Algonquin they still don’t have my ring I tell them someone needs to find it NOW!!! I call Aurora ask for manager I was told there was no manager on duty at the time I explained my situation very angrily to Bryanna who was very sympathetic and said Algonquin has just called very upset as well and that she would call Felix on vacation and my ring would be found. Luckily Algonquin store called they found my ring at the Jared in Algonquin the employee Jeff from the Kay Algonquin store went and picked it up personally! And guess what there is no one to tell this situation to no DM no GM to speak to directly hence the new review!!!! Bring Julie back!!!! I will no longer go to Aurora for as long as Derrick is there!!! I have spent roughly 20k in the last few months with Felix and Julie and even Amy has helped love them but the new management is a joke and I am so very disappointed that none of the people involved have a damn about my missing ring until I called and had to be mean!!!! Hopefully someone higher up actually reads this and realizes what a mistake was made and I will be getting a call for an apology a really...
Read moreBeing bullied wasn’t on my to do list for 11/02/2025.
I walked in with my family, just planning to browse and maybe buy something special. As soon as we entered, the employee greeted us with a joke — we smiled and went about our business. Then, out of nowhere, he said “more people that don’t know how to speak English.”
Little did he know, we do speak English. The look on his face when he realized it was priceless — pure shock and embarrassment. But honestly, that doesn’t make up for the humiliation.
And let’s be clear — we don’t have to laugh at jokes that aren’t funny. But if someone chooses not to laugh, that doesn’t give you the right to insult or humiliate them, especially in front of their family.
No one should ever have to experience that kind of disrespect. We walked in as customers, not as a punchline to someone’s ignorant comment. My family and I were made to feel small and judged simply for how we look — and that’s not okay.
This isn’t just bad customer service. It’s prejudice. And it’s heartbreaking that this still happens in 2025.
What makes it even worse is that we were there to buy our wedding bands — something meaningful, something that’s supposed to represent love and commitment. Instead, we walked out feeling disrespected and humiliated. We took our business to another store right after and bought our rings there.
Kay Jewelers lost a sale. All because of that one bully.
Kay Jewelers, do better. Train your employees to treat every person with respect and dignity. No family should ever walk out of your store feeling the way...
Read moreI came in to get my wedding rings resized and engraved. The moment I walked in, I was completely ignored for at least 5–7 minutes. One associate was helping another customer while Derrick, the supposed store manager, just sat there watching — no greeting, no acknowledgment, nothing.
When someone finally decided to help me, Derrick suddenly appeared and immediately asked if I wanted my rings shipped to the North Riverside Mall. I had mentioned that my husband originally purchased them from the North Riverside Mall location. He then told me that if I did, he “wouldn’t do it.” Excuse me? I told him no, I came here because this store is closer. While the associate looked up my file, Derrick continued making unnecessary, smart remarks. At that point, I asked for my rings back and told them I wouldn’t be doing business there.
When I asked for his name, he yelled out, “Derrick, the store manager,” like it was something to be proud of.
Completely unprofessional, disrespectful, and uncalled for. If this is how management acts, I can only imagine what kind of example he sets for the rest of the staff. I’ll never step foot in that store again.
Huge thank you to Donna at Kay Jewelers in North Riverside Mall — she’s the complete opposite of what I experienced here. Friendly, professional, and actually cares about customers. Maybe this location should take a few...
