Went in today, apparently they DO NOT do watch repairs nor battery replacement.
I tried to replace the dead battery in my watch and although I succeeded in the replacement, I couldn’t get the the “case back” to easily snap back into place. Rather than forcing it and potentially causing damage to the inner components, I searched google maps for “battery replacement and watch repair” and found Ar-Mar.
I presented my watch to the person working and explained this. She said “we don’t do watch repairs.”
This was REALLY confusing for me, considering I had just read several reviews of Ar-Mar that mentioned both services. So I said, “ You don’t do watch repairs??” Again, she repeated “no, we don’t do watch repairs”.
Now, I realize my question has already been asked and answered twice. HOWEVER , please keep in mind that when I pulled up to the store, their sign literally says “watch batteries and repairs”. Despite feeling stupid for asking yet a third time, yet so perplexed due to what I read on their storefront sign just moments before, I went for it and asked for a final clarification: “so you DON’T do watch repairs or battery replacements for watches?” She said “no, try the mall.” No explanation, no clarification. Just “try the mall”. (Whatever that means.)
I thought “maybe I went to the wrong place?????” Maybe the reviews were old and they used to provide those services but no longer do?????” As I walked out, I looked up and re-read their sign (maybe I read the sign wrong???”) Oh no, read it for yourself in my attached picture. It most definitely, very clearly states that they do “battery replacement and watch repair”.
As I type this, I STILL have no clue what happened or what type of twilight zone I walked into. Maybe the sign is literal??? Maybe they have watch batteries, but they don’t replace/sell them and they do watch repairs unless it has something to do with the battery??? I don’t know. I...
Read moreUpdate: After a few weeks and much thought, I’m still highly disappointed in how the lady there treated me but I’m not sure the jeweler deserves a low rating because of his VERY RUDE employee. I’m going back to 4 stars for previous service and am going back to try to give them another chance before permanently changing jewelers. I’ve loved this jeweler and place in the past and hopefully the owner has gotten his rude lady employee under control.
Changing my review from 5 stars to 2 stars …. If I had to rate my experience based solely on todays experience, it would have been ZERO STARS. I have had many items fixed and had custom work done on the past which was 5 star quality. I refer so many people in need of jeweler and jewelry repair to this place but I won’t anymore. I saw the jeweler leaving in his car around lunchtime today and probably should have left too. I went inside and the lady was curt, impolite and seemed completely irritated that she even had to talk with us. She acted like she was offering something that I couldn’t afford to have or something. It was weird. I had 12 items that I needed repair and after I asked questions about the first two items, I just grabbed my stuff and left. I don’t need to deal with a jewelry store clerk with that kind of attitude. She needs to leave her attitude at hone … what a bad showing for your little store … haha just read your reviews, seems like you need to send the rude lady home for good. She’s bitter and not good for...
Read moreI’ve come to AR MAR multiple times to get watch batteries replaced. When I got engaged my fiancé’s Ring needed to be sized down one size. Therefore, I decided to take it here. Somewhere I have been before. The male owner of the shop was usually the person I always dealt with in my watch repairs. This time when I came in the female owner of the shop attended me. I am assuming she is the wife. Right off the bat, she was annoyed, in a bad mood, was extremely direct in an ugly manner. I said, eh, maybe she’s having a bad day. So, I left the ring to get sized down. Picked it up the next day, and paid $50. A bit high of a price if you ask me, but whatever. Turns out the size was still a bit to big for my gf’s finger. Not a big deal, we decided to go back and get it sized down again. When my Gf walked in, the same rude a$$ lady attended her. She denied my gf’s ring this time, and said her knuckles were too big. Simply said no, and attended my gf in the same disgusting and rude manner the female owner attended me. Worst part about all of this is she knew damn well I’m RAZA just like she was. Why own a business when you’re upset at just about every person that walks in your shop. Take your money elsewhere, folks. Rude, entitled business owners with a shop in a...
