I typically don’t review, but our experience was pretty dismal at this location. The instructor, Jaz(?), didn’t seem to really know how to throw and couldn’t stick an axe on the target, but tried to tell our experienced group that we were doing it wrong when the majority of our group stuck 9 of 10 throws. We were only allowed to throw for 30 minutes of the hour we had paid for because the guide/instructor person took forever to show us how not to throw, and interrupted us to give really long winded explanations of games we didn’t want to play. We were discouraged from throwing at our own pace and playing our own games that we’d learned at other axe establishments (for example, cricket) - nothing dangerous or rowdy, just formatted differently than the games she wanted us to play. The establishment gets three stars because the targets were in good shape, the axes were in good shape, and it was clean and well lit. I would go back if I could guarantee that we’d have a qualified, efficient instructor and the...
Read moreThe vibe is weird here. It’s in a warehouse situation with awful parking. Lobby had strong body odor. Staff seemed extremely disorganized and overwhelmed, which at times came across as rude. We paid for an hour and didn’t get lead back or safety instructions until 15 mins in and yet you better believe we were out of there 45 mins later. During this short span of time we had three different instructors who would show up and disappear at random with 0 explanation. And there’s more. In this place where strangers are given sharp weapons and little to no safety training, there are also concrete floors, AND an overhead AC setup that sporadically pours water out! That’s right, I’m talking mid-axe swing drops of icy water right on your head or back, and then, trying to avoid the puddles and not slip from the stuff already fallen. There are also 0 food or beverage options here. loud screamo music played the whole time which was a bit annoying. We had fun ultimately because we are fun people but...
Read moreMy family absolutely loved our axe throwing experience here. We had 8 people and ended up in a group with 4 other people down two lanes and were mixed up a bit as far as teams went (6 and 6). Snoop Logg was our axepert and he was easy going, nice, and very funny and made the whole experience fun even when we weren’t quite getting it. He was very invested in everyone’s throws and got excited or sad with us when we stuck the axe or didn’t. If I go back and have the opportunity to request an axepert, might just have to ask for him again!
There were people down the rest of the lanes and everyone seemed to be having a good time. It was rather loud because it’s exciting hitting bullseyes or not hitting the target at all. The BYOB aspect seemed a little funny to us at first but was fine and actually pretty great once we were there.
I highly highly recommend Class Axe for a fun night of bonding with anyone- friends, colleagues, family, whoever. It will be a wonderful...
