Such a positive experience here! I'll try to start from the begining but this will be a long review... (and no, I'm not affiliated with the Eagle in any way)
Finding the Austin Eagle was easy - Google Maps gets everything right, and the parking situation is simple (lot out front, additional parking beyond or street parking if needed). When you enter, the space is comfortable but edgy, great decor even though it's still so very new! EXTREMELY friendly staff! I can't say enough good things about the staff. I'll call out Sonya and Pablo by name for being awesome, but the others whose names I didn't get were also super sweet and friendly and made me feel immediately welcome where as a woman I'd been expecting to feel a little out of place.
The food, OMG the food. It is not your typical bar food! The Sunday brunch is 100% worth your while to check out, it's exceptionally good. Big, thick pancakes, shockingly delicious breakfast tacos, sweet French toast... But the potatoes are really where it's at, they are just to die for. The regular menu is great as well, all of the dishes are customizable if you are vegetation, many can be made totally vegan, and they'll flag any food allergies or sensitivities like gluten and actually cook your food in a separate, clean pan/container. Plus a smaller late night menu Thursday through Saturday, stuff you'd find on most bar menus but a waaaay higher quality of food. Austin Eagle is ON IT.
Fun non-standard cocktails. Little pitchers of water if you want a big glass (too cute!). Gender neutral bathrooms. Outdoor patio with extra seating that wraps around the side of the building. It's a very cool space. Great sound system, seems like good choice in DJ partnerships the times I went, perfect for dancing and having a great evening. Bootblack stand(s).
I was so impressed by how the Austin Eagle supported Onyx Pearls Lustre Southwest for their 2023 anniversary weekend (3 years strong)! Even though the majority of clientele are probably gay men, the Eagle put a ton of effort into welcoming and partnering with BIPOC women of leather, which to my mind showcases exactly the kind of inclusivity that the leather community was founded on. Props, y'all!
I'm planning to spend more time at the Austin Eagle after this first weekend experience there went so very well. I'm excited to have a dedicated space in town for leather and fetish folx. My feeling is that the Austin Eagle really is looking for ways to serve our community, so I want to support them right back.
I don't leave a glowing review like this, lightly. But they earned all 5...
Read moreHusband and I dropped in to meet some friends. We had a party of 8. The space was clean clean clean. Our server greater us promptly and beverages delivered quickly. A few in our party had beer (they have a nice selection of beer), while others stuck to water and iced tea. (I had a lightly sweetened sweet tea and it was perfect)
We shared a few appetizers. We sampled the onion rings, fried mushrooms and The Tater Cake Jumbos. Everything was prepared fresh and delivered piping hot to their table.
On to burgers. Omg. 'Dats one tasty burger. I had the Eagle Burger (half pound with Eagle sauce, lettuce, pickles, tomato. Medium. Skipped the onion but thats just my preference. )
The burger was cooked perfectly and came with a generous side of seasoned fries. I dislike ketchup ( that's just me again) so asked for some BBQ sauce for my fries. The server brought me a fresh cup of Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce. I am not sure if they make this blend there, but it was absolutely delightful and next time, will have that on my burger.
We visited during weekend lunch service so the mood was energetic with an easy energy that was enjoyed by all.
Oh. I was crushing hard on our server. He had a smile and playfulness that had me grinning ear to ear. He was friendly and delightfully engaged with the energy of our party. ( just a group of friends that realized we haven't seen each other since COVID and perhaps our enthusiasm was apparent.)
Bottom line. We'll be back. There is a whole bunch of menu we still need to sample. And as working folk, Tuesdays may be hard, but I fully intend to get down there to Tuesday Steak Night.
No bad news here on any level. There's adequate parking for day visits for sure . And supporting a new venue that is LBGQT positive with EXCEPTIONAL food, cleanliness and friendly, efficient staffing... you can't go wrong with a visit to this new and exciting business in...

It's been open for quite a while and me being an over 50-year-old dubious of all, sarcastic smart ass, I wasn't sure if I would like it. Yet today, I got off my ass and FINALLY went to check it out. Verdict? SPECTACULAR!!!! It was just after 2 pm, an event was going on, and I felt this immediate awesome vibe! The bartender, Ron- he has a great smile and great sense of humor- was complete perfection and the cocktails he made me did the job intended. The indoors were darkly cool and decently lit with great art and nostalgia on the walls, outdoor area was laid back with more great art and such (I nearly cried when I came across a piece of the bar from mid 20s that existed downtown by the Capitol Building so long ago, Charlie's), plenty of shade and an overall comfortable space. They also serve food- burger, cheesesteak, club, quesadilla, chicken tenders- and although I wasn't hungry/partake, other customers were chomping away happily. Would I go again? Sure! Would I bring friends with me? Hell yes, I would! The Austin Eagle is fantastic, and I so hope it remains that way. I will be visiting again!!!

Hello again- came back for an unexpected second visit. And? Still fantastic!!! Met Daryll (or Darrell?) the bartender and Luis, and other folks about. Put it on your list of go to places, everyone- need to stop for a cocktail and/or delicious food served quickly? The Austin Eagle is a definite place to stop and take a pleasant breather, with cool staff to make sure all is well and offer lively...
