A friend invited me to a 2 headed giant tournament. My first interaction with one of their employees was a woman behind the counter. She was extremely rude, short, impatient, and was not accommodating to new customers. I was brushed aside while she went on to the next customer. At that point, had I been there on my own accord I would have simply left and not gave them any business. Not to upset my friend, I paid my entry fee; this will be the only business this place will get from me.
I also noticed this same employee completely disregard a customer asking to see an item behind the counter and literally put the item within a few inches of their face and then proceeded to brush that person aside. She was also short and rude with this person that asked simple questions about products. Apparently she was too busy with something else to sell any merchandise.
There was another employee who was also the judge from the tournament however as they were too busy taking care of customers as the female employee had no care to assist anyone. My self and other players around me would call a judge but to no avail they would be to busy to judge the tournament.
At the end the female employee made some comment about how busy and tired they were because of events of the weekend I particularly did not care for. It's a business there is no excuse for lack of staffing to justify treating customers this way.
It just seems if you are not a regular customer in a Mothership Tee shirt then you are going to be treated 2nd rate.
I suppose this place is in business simply because of location and lack of competition in the area. However there are other gaming stores in North Austin who treat their customers with respect, and I would rather pay higher retail costs and drive a little further to another store that has better...
Read moreHere's my experience, 1. The inventory is well kept and is always shelved with things, thank god. 2. Their website purchasing is great, but why would I purchase cards online if I am already in your store? Got told to order them through the site when I was trying to give them a simple 3 card list, but they said to do it online... um... why, but ok. 3. For a store this small, I get it that when it comes to events, it will get crazy, but what about casual players wanting to play with friends or Randoms that aren't apart of the event? Prime example, I came with a buddy who he was signing up for the Aetherdrift pre realest today, and I came to just play casual, didn't have the funds nor desire to sign up for this expansion for it didn't loom interesting. Besides the point, I came to play casual and my partner was going to join later, but because yall didn't really take in consideration for casual players, I had to basically move from the tables to outside of the store and basically had to wait to go home because of the fact yall were super packed, but only thought about the event and not those that just want to come play casually at a card shop. As a player, I felt left out. I didn't want to have to make this review, but honestly, I just don't like the fact that as a casual player who plays at cardshops, can't do that here during events. Please maybe reconsider your layout and add like 1 or 2 more tables that can be for more casual players to come and play at. I for one at times don't like to play at home, so that's why I go to cardshops, and to also meet new people possibly and...
Read moreDefinitely going to come back in the future! Loved the low prices, and general atmosphere personally. My Brother, his wife, and I all came in to play some Heroes of the Storm together just to have a fun time playing next to each other. The employee who checked us was Tom, and he was absolutely fantastic. Tom was incredibly friendly, great customer service, and overall just very helpful. We bought the 2 hour pack for 6 dollars and picked our spots. It turns out the computers my brother and I had didn't have Heroes of the Storm installed. We were kinda bummed we were gonna have to eat up time to install the game, but Tom came over helped us get the games installed because we couldn't install them due to low disk space. He ended up giving us all of the time we used to install the games and get setup back to us and a few minutes extra as well for the hassle. This to me was just awesome, because we even told him not to worry about it. Tom definitely went above and beyond to make sure our first experience was a memorable and enjoyable one. He came over a couple times to check on us and make sure we didn't have any more issues, and when he left he came to tell us another employee was taking over who was also named Tom and made sure we knew who to look for if we had any more issues! Again just a great environment and even better staff. We will definitely be coming back in the future to plan a day pass and just hang out there for a whole day of being...
