Stopped by for 30 minutes on the way to Fredericksburg. Cloudy day. No sun. Parking was easy on the street. Didn't have a whole lot of time so went a quarter mile each way. I was trying to look for the falls but I didn't see any in the short lengths I was on. At the end of the trailhead went left first. Relatively quiet, interesting terrain, Good for intrepid families with small kids on backs. Beautiful! a surreal like out of this world flat Rock spot. Right side seem good for people with dogs. Was a bit loud because of construction nearby. Path was also wider and flat not as interesting. Definitely want to come by again on another day when I have a bit more time. Recommend if you're in the area with you for a nice, easy hike.

Trailhead is directly across the street from a Tacodeli. There is no parking lot for the trail but there is ample street parking. I took the trail north to Barton Springs Pool. It is about a mile hike from the trailhead to the pool. Once nice thing was that it was about 80-90% in the shade for that mile. Nice in the summertime. The trail is mostly flat, just a little bit of elevation. The most difficult part of the hike is actually the groomed walkway from the road down to the main trail. I didn’t notice it walking down to the trail but on the way back I realized that it was maybe 150 yards uphill. Trail is a bit rocky in places. Not difficult really but could twist an ankle if you are not paying attention.

I absolutely love Austin/San Antonio for its natural beauty and plentiful water activities. This creek actually dries up most years towards the end of summer, but that doesn't mean you can't have a good time hiking the creek bed. In fact, the creek drying up makes it easier to find the cliff side cave overlooking the creek! If you do a bit of research you can find detailed instructions leading you to this cave (it isn't marked by a trail). The view is awesome, probably more so with water in the creek so I'll have to visit again! Find it and enjoy, just be prepared for the steep climb and the grafiti, as is bound to occur with any area not adamantly protected.
