Myself and my very excited 1.5 and 3.5 year old first arrived just in time to see the 11:15 train leave. Spoke with the woman at ticketing and she explained the next one would go at 11:45. No problem we went to the playground and came back at 11:40 to find that the train was now going at 12.
As we’re walking back up at 11:54 the train is once again leaving without us. When I asked the same woman from before what happened she said “boss man called and said to go” and also informed me they would not be running any more today because of the weather. She also claimed that someone came to the playground and informed every one of this and yet I never heard or saw anyone while we were there playing while waiting.
So frustrating to get the kids excited for this, spend money on parking, and wait and wait just for them to go without us. I’m sure it’s great of you can actually get a ride on it but we struck out at no fault of our own so instead of a nice train ride I was left with disappointed and...
Read moreGood time for the toddlers. Parents cant help but love watching their kids enjoy it. Starts on south side of zilker near the pool and travels under barton springs over to the north side of the park. It makes a small loop and backtracks on the same tracks back to the start. Just before you finish you travel through under the playground and through 1 more tunnel. Plan to see a line most days. We got in line at 11am for the 12 o clock train. Adults are $4, kids are $3, & under 2 are free (must ride on adults lap).
I did catch a guy taking pictures of the kids in line. I confronted him and he immediately split. I included his picture for everyones saftey. He is the white haired guy in the green shirt. I told the people running the train. They said , "he is harmless and just says weird things". I disagree. He was touching kids hats that he didnt know and was getting in their personal space. I was also told that if you see a man on a bike acting specious. Let them know...
Read moreI absolutely LOVE THIS TRAIN! LOVE THIS PLACE ALL AROUND! I have taken all of my children to this train. First son was in 1995, then my twins in 1999, and now my last child in 2025 and every child has LOVED THIS TRAIN!! PLAN on buying multiple tickets up front because one train ride is NOT ENOUGH! THE CHILDREN TRULY ENJOY THE TUNNELS AND they get to scream in the last tunnel WHICH IS ALWAYS 🤣 FUNNY!! Even my autistic son liked screaming in the last tunnel. Just plan on buying multiple tickets and you'll truly enjoy yourself too. Last weekend (January 2025) we spent 21$ per ride for the three of us - we rode five times and probably done more but they close at five on Fridays. Even after all the world changes- the Zilker Zephyr train ride remains WONDERFUL, PEACEFUL ENJOYABLE AND FUN !!! BRING an umbrella to block the sun if you come in the summer-but it's a beautiful ride in our mild Texas...
