We had heard some good things, so we decided to try Holla Mode. We found parking about a ten-minute walk away and got in line at 10:40 (twenty minutes before the posted closing time). Four or five people were ahead of us in line. At 11:00, the server gave the people ahead of us in line their ice cream and announced that the store was now closed. We, the four or five people now behind us in line, and the five or six people in the other line all complained that we had been in line before 11:00 (some of us for twenty minutes or more), but the server said it was the store's rule to close at 11:00 and there was nothing she could do about it. She lamely explained that 11:00 was the posted closing time and claimed that she had announced it to the people in line. (She had made no announcement in the twenty minutes we were waiting.) And then she said we could come earlier another night. As one customer expressed it, "Fat chance." I have never seen a business establishment that refuses to serve people who arrive before closing time. Brick-and-mortar stores will commonly close the doors at closing time (letting customers out while not letting anyone new come in), but will politely serve anyone who is already there. When a grocery store closes a cash register, it still checks out the people who were already in line. Even polling stations allow everyone to vote who arrives before closing. I can understand Holla Mode's desire not to remain open until 1:00 a.m., serving anyone who arrives while another customer is still being served (particularly when it takes so long to serve each customer). But I find it incomprehensible that a business would refuse service to a customer who was waiting in line well before closing time. Even a trailer (which has no doors to close) could easily identify who is in line by 11:00 and serve only them. It would be simple enough to put out a sign announcing that the line was now closed, and that no one new could join the line after closing time. I am sure that a creative business would have no trouble figuring out how to handle this problem. If the store doesn't want our business, however, common courtesy demands that it let people know before they waste time standing in line. Surely the servers know how long it takes them to serve each customer. (Based on our twenty minutes' observation, it takes about five minutes per customer. Holla Mode presumably has a larger data set and can make a better estimate.) When the servers see that there are as many people in line as they will have time to serve before they close the store, they should warn people not to waste their time waiting for service they will never receive. We wasted forty minutes last night in hopes of trying Holla Mode (ten minutes walking to the shop, twenty minutes in line, and ten minutes walking back to the car). We will not waste any more time. We are sticking with Amy's, which we know is good and where we have not met a rude server in over...
Read moreI went today around 4:30 and I just got my ice cream just now (5:20!)
It took almost an HOUR TO GET MY ICE CREAM.
I never do reviews but this one deserved one for how bad my experience was!
When we got there, there was only four people in front of us . When the little boy took my order he was rude to begin with. He kept talking to his friends while I was ordering and the MUSIC WAS LOUD I COULDNT HEAR MYSELF.
After I was ordering we waited 40 minutes.
During the 40 minutes I noticed there was about 8 kids inside the food truck and only 2 making the ice cream. While there was 10 customers still waiting . The rest of the workers owere laughing playing with their phones And singing.
I am a very patient person so I wasn't going to say anything
UNTIL I SAW SOME OTHER KIDS TALKING TO THE WORKERS I AM ASSUMING THEIR FRIENDS ON THE SIDE WINDOW WHERE YOU PICK UP YOUR ICE CREAM AND THE KIDS HANDED THEM MONEY. AFTER TEN MINUTES THE KIDS GOT THEIR ICE CREAM BEFORE ME WHEN I WAS THERE FOR 30 MINUTES ALREADY!!!!
I wasn't the only one that noticed other people saw and were pissed.
So that's when I acknowledge the co workers about it
They didn't seem to care, all they said was "we are making yours right now"
I AM SO MAD I DIDNT EVEN GET TO ENJOY MY ICE CREAM
I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE
ON A SIDE NOTE OBVIOUSLY THE OWNERS DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR BUISNESS OR CUSTOMERS BECAUSE AFTER READING THE OTHER REVIEWS
THE KIDS ARE STILL ON THEIR PHONES
THE KIDS ARE STILL PLAYING EXPLICT MUSIC
THE KIDS ARE LETTING THEIR FRIENDS GET THEIR ICE CREAM BEFORE EVERYONE ELSE
AND THE KIDS ARE...

Only giving a 2 because the Ice Cream was good. Worst customer service I've experienced in awhile. First off, it says this place is opened at 11, we get there at 12:30 and its still not open. We call the number and a nice gentleman named Zach answers. He apparently checks the cameras for this location and can tell that there is someone inside the trailer prepping and she has been there since noon so he says he will call and have her open it up. About 10 minutes later she opens it. We nicely ask her what time they open and she snaps at us and says "we open later now" but refuses to give us a time. She then says "What do you want?". We order one at a time and she makes the ice cream after each order. When i order she has a hard time hearing me because of the loud music she has playing. I had to repeat myself 3 times. Then she brings me my order and didn't put the whipped cream on it that I asked for. I asked if she could please add the whipped cream (mind you, it does not cost extra because I didnt order any other toppings and 2 are included) and she snaps again and says "you didn't order any". I say, "yes I did". She responds "well I didn't hear it. Let me help the next customer and then I'll get it". Overall a terrible experience. Unless you're in the mood to deal with some attitude, I recommend trying another ice cream spot. Amy's never...
