Rating: 3.9/5 [Postmates delivery] Eggman was running a BOGO deal on Postmates, so it felt like the perfect time to try their breakfast sandwiches, with the upcharge being about $1. Each sandwich combo comes with a small portion of crispy, seasoned golden home fries on the side, but we were missing one order. For the sandwiches, I wasn’t a fan of the roll they use or how it’s prepared. It was a bit dry and floury. The Big Mess ($15.48) + Hash Brown Patty ($1.98): We got the medium Eggman sauce, which is spicy, sweet, and has a little kick, and no cheese. I wouldn’t recommend adding the hash brown patty inside since it was soggy, crumbly, and made the sandwich messy to eat. Without cheese, the sandwich was on the drier side. The bacon was a bit hard, though it probably would have tasted better fresh. The Basic ($9.74) + Make it "The Weird Way" (Original, Medium, and Ranch sauces) ($1.89): The Weird Way made this sandwich very saucy and flavorful. Without it, the sandwich would have been plain and not worth it. Golden Home Fries: These potato cubes were just okay. They were under-seasoned and too starchy to eat on their own, so they definitely need a sauce.

My coworkers and I wanted some breakfast sandwiches the next morning, so I placed an online order for 8am the next day. When I arrived, the order was bagged up and ready to go with all of the sandwiches labeled as requested. I didn't stick around but there was plenty of parking spots, shade, and picnic tables for people who want to eat their food there. Eggman ATX absolutely nailed our order; every sandwich was correct. They were also DELICIOUS. We were all really happy with our food. My coworkers got a classic bacon/egg/cheese, the big mess, and a bacon/egg/cheese (make it weird). I got the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with a side of hot honey and their house made hot sauce. I loved the thickness and cook of the bacon as well as the gooeyness of the cheese. The eggs were also cooked perfectly. The hot sauce was tasty and paired great with the sandwich. While I love me a good breakfast taco, it's so nice to have a fun, new, NYC-style breakfast sandwich option that's easy to pick up and tasty to boot.

Okay, let me tell you about Eggman ATX this place is *dangerous* in the best way possible. Richard is out here making breakfast sandwiches so good, I swear they could solve world peace. The bacon, egg, and cheese? It’s like a hug for your soul. And that chopped cheese? I had it once, and now I’m in a committed relationship with it. Consistency? Like clockwork. This man’s sandwiches are more reliable than my Wi-Fi. Every single time, they hit just right none of that ‘I hope today’s as good as last time’ nonsense. Richard’s got it down to a science. Long story short if you’re still eating boring breakfast, you’re missing out. Do yourself a favor, hit up Eggman ATX, and prepare to have your taste buds do a happy dance. Trust me you’ll wonder where this food truck’s been your whole life!

Lots of disappointment with this one. There were problems when we tried to find parking, there were problems when we placed an order (we were told to use a kiosk, then another person attempted to take our order and was rude to us when we told them we had already started placing an order with the kiosk), the kiosk took our order incorrectly (gave us three orange juices), they didn't have the black and white cookie I had been interested in trying, the orange juices had ice in them(?), and were not freshly squeezed as their website said (we saw them open a gallon jug of orange juice). When I heard my name called I didn't recognize ordering three orange juices so asked if this was part of a larger order to try to confirm that I wasn't taking someone else's order who might've had the same name as me, and the person seemed upset with me to have to tell me in a patronizing tone that, yes, I would need to wait twenty minutes for the rest of my food. We stood around and waited for our turn to sit awkwardly at picnic tables while we sweat, among crowded and similarly uncomfortable strangers. When we finally got our food, we walked back to the car and got dirty looks from people as though we weren't supposed to park there, and the parking lot was a headache to get out of, due to restaurant signs on the grass blocking the view of oncoming traffic. Got home, laughed at the portion sizes as compared to the cost (the poorly-seasoned potatoes, especially). They forgot to give us an entire sandwich, and we spent over fifty dollars (before tip) for our three orange juices and two sandwiches, the latter of which we couldn't tell which one belonged to whom, were overly-salty, and one was too dry. The breakfast sandwich on their bread rolls is a decent idea, but not worth that level of headache, and seems far easier to buy such bread somewhere else and assemble it yourself. Kind of amazing how disappointing this was. The only positive thing I have to look back on that experience is my ability to take all of that in-stride and still be grateful that I decided to try...

Eggman Food Truck – Just OK, But Room for Improvement

I recently tried the Eggman food truck with my brother. We each ordered a breakfast sandwich.I got the sausage, egg, and cheese, and he went with the bacon, egg, and cheese. While the food was filling, it just didn’t meet expectations, especially at the $11 price point. If I were to rate it, I’d give the food a 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Starting with the positives: The woman at the counter was friendly and welcoming, and the two cooks in the back looked focused and worked well together. The service overall was solid, and the staff gave off a good vibe.

Now, about the food: The hoagie/bun was bland and missing the salty, buttery flavor that could have elevated the sandwich. The egg tasted under-seasoned and a bit too basic, like something I could quickly make at home. It was freshly cooked on the flattop, but came across like a pre-made egg patty. The cheese was melty and gooey, which was nice, but could use an upgrade to something sharper for more flavor. The sausage tasted like it came from a frozen pack and didn’t have much depth. My brother’s bacon was a bit overcooked, dry and brittle, though he said the flavor was decent.

We both tried the house sauce on the side, but it just tasted like a basic mix of ketchup, mayo, and hot sauce...nothing memorable.

The home fries were fine in terms of portion, but nothing stood out there either.

Atmosphere-wise, the setup includes a couple of picnic tables. Unfortunately, where we sat had a faint smell of dog poop. Probably due to the location and not something the truck itself can control, but still a part of the experience.

One highlight: the owner or manager was engaging, chatting with some customers behind us about their food. They seemed to enjoy it, so maybe it’s just a matter of personal taste.

Overall, Eggman wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. Some upgrades to the ingredients and a bit more seasoning could...

Consistently inconsistent.

My roommate loves this place as someone who grew up outside of the City and likes to say: wow, this is reminiscent of a new york bodega that does these sandwiches. Well, i've had food from here at least 6-7 times with him, and i can honestly say: meh.

As a west coaster, maybe i don't understand the hype of it. I've actually been at the place early on when they were doing a whole bunch of social media stuff. So, there's definitely an aspect of promoting your business that way. And the owner is so nice!

However, when it comes down to it, for me, the food is still a meh overall experience. The food itself is very good, but not spectacular. The issue i have is that when we've ordered in advance, they always forget things or change things such as not including the sauce or putting it on if we've said it's on the side. Not like sometimes, all the times. Consistently inconsistent. More than one occasion, there were egg shells in the egg or perhaps the edges burnt to the point of a consistency of a shell? Additionally, more than one occasion as well, when the sandwich was put together, it was very haphazardly constructed with everything falling out--like, with the cheese and all that. And you know, it's not like i was rough with the bag and shuffled things around like you can accidentally do.

Of note, it can be hard to park on the weekends.

In the end, I recommend trying this place. I just don't think it's amazing like so many others think it is, especially with the multiple...
