Hidden gem preserving a piece of bygone Baltimore history and you can ride multiple 100+ year old streetcars too. The exhibit is quite interesting and shows how Baltimore's long-defunct streetcar system helped shape the city into what it is today. They offer frequent rides on multiple streetcars throughout the day on their 3/4 mile track that are included in the $10 admission. The day I visited there were 3 streetcars operating, one about 75 years old, another about 115, and another almost 125 years old.
One of the streetcars broke down en route (ironically the ~75 year old PCC which was relatively the newest) but to the staff's credit they were able to improvise a clever solution involving sticking a screwdriver into the gear box to get it running again so we didn't have to walk back to the museum. The people working here really know their stuff about these machines! Overall highly recommend, it's very friendly for both adults and kids. Only thing to note is it's only open on Sundays...

Unfortunately Google had the wrong hours of operations up so we went there on a day that they actually were not open but the volunteers there were very kind about it and understanding. They actually ended up giving us a brief private tour and ride so that the kiddos weren't too bummed out. The volunteers we're all very extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We didn't get a chance to go inside understandably because they were not open oh, but I'm excited to come back and get a full tour of the inside. Also looking forward to the potential of having a kiddos birthday party here!! Thank you again to the amazing volunteers that went above and beyond today. You absolutely made what could have been a very disappointing day for these two boys an extremely...

Wonderful history of the streetcar in the US and especially Baltimore. Describes how cars and roads co-opted rails. Many original artifacts and exhibits and servers as location of Maryland Streetcar archives. All run by VERY dedicated volunteers who narrate history during your ride.
Working train set behind glass. Small gift shop with memorabilia. We got familiar with the museum and volunteers in October 2023 when my daughter had her wedding here. My wife created a native plant garden that volunteers keep going. A lot...
