I’ve stayed at Wilson House Bed and Breakfast twice now, and both times have been excellent. The owners, Guy and Clelia, were extremely kind and flexible with check-in times, which made arrival easy. The house itself is full of history and decorated with beautiful artwork—it reminded me of a Victorian-era mansion. Breakfast each morning was a two-course meal served on china, with tea or coffee included. I especially enjoyed talking with Guy Thomas in the mornings. He’s the inventor of Satellite AIS (S-AIS), a technology that enables global ship tracking and has had a major impact on maritime safety. My room was clean, quiet, and well-stocked with amenities—plenty of towels, shampoo and conditioner, makeup removing wipes, and fast Wi-Fi. Despite other guests staying at the house, I couldn’t hear any noise at all, which made for a relaxing stay. The location is also convenient—about a 10-minute walk from the North Avenue station on the Baltimore Light Rail. It’s also close to the University of Baltimore, MICA, grocery stores, parks, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and the Baltimore City Zoo. After two wonderful visits, I can confidently say I’ll be returning again. If you’re looking for a place with charm, character, warmth, and top-notch hospitality, Wilson House is it.

Our stay at the Wilson House in May 2021 reinforces the reasons we love B&B’s and find that typical hotels pale by comparison. We checked in, along with our adult daughters, for three days at the Wilson house while we visited the city of Baltimore as part of a spring road trip. Immediately, we could see that we were in the presence of history. The 40-room mansion, one of the most illustrious houses in the city, is beautifully restored and appointed with unusual antique furniture and collected objects of every kind, from military medals to fine art and rare China. Our host, Guy Thomas, and his wife Clelia, go to great lengths to provide comfortable lodgings and a delicious breakfast each day. Beyond that, Guy is a fascinating raconteur of stories surrounding his distinguished military service, his extraordinary career, which includes some distinct surprises, and the unique history of the Wilson House. To top it off, they gave us a spirited song and a lovely decorated cake to celebrate my husband's birthday on our last day. The Wilson House is everything one hopes for in a B&B. We would give it an unqualified high recommendation.

Enjoyed my very first ever B&B experience! Guy and Clelia are such wonderful hosts. Their house is immaculately clean and filled with amazing items Guy collected through the years. The Victorian architecture is complemented by good solid furnishings and modern conveniences. I am so impressed that I already booked another night!

A huge thank you to Guy and Clelia for providing a lovely stay when I was in a very tough spot. To make a long story short, I was recently in Baltimore attending a large (10k people) conference for which I booked a large hotel chain well ahead of time. I was notified while standing in said hotel chain's lobby trying to check in that they cancelled my reservation due to being "over-booked". No notification, no place to sleep, every hotel sold out in a ten mile radius. ||By a sheer stroke of luck (or genius?), my travel rep was able to connect me with Guy, the owner and proprietor of Wilson House. He was friendly, accommodating, and willing to help out in any way they could. They had just returned from some recent travel and didn't have their property listed publicly, so still had a few rooms available. I grabbed an Uber and headed over. ||The property is located in the historic neighborhood of Reservoir Hill, about 2 miles north of the Baltimore Convention Center. It's about a 10 minute car ride, which is much easier than the seemingly quite unreliable light rail. It is a beautiful, sprawling mansion that is filled with both lovely antique furnishings and treasures from Guy and Clelia's travels around the world. My room (the flower room) was quite large by modern standards, with a private balcony and en-suite. Of note, the room and bathroom were impressively CLEAN. Take it from a career scientist in the medical field, that bathroom was cleaner than a lot of labs I've worked in. Clelia cleans and maintains all the rooms herself and she's NOT messing around. Finally, the breakfasts I had over the 3 mornings of my stay were all delicious, varied (especially loved the Moroccan eggs/shakshuka!), and filled with great company.||I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Though it's a bit off the beaten path from the main tourist spots in Baltimore, it's worth it. It certainly worked out being a better stay than what I originally had booked at the big-hotel chain, and probably about half the cost to boot. Guy was even able to help out a coworker of mine with a room for our first night in town after the hotel she had booked left her with concerns about safety and cleanliness. If you're looking for ultra-modern in the dead center of the city and/or traveling with a bunch of kids, I'd likely look elsewhere. However, if you value historic charm, true hospitality, and supporting a local business, you'd do VERY well to stay with Guy and Clelia at...

Property - Room very clean and very spacious with additional antechamber. The antechamber had lots of closet space, writing desk with chair, and mirror. The room and the entire property is very clean and carefully decorated with great attention to detail for a Victorian theme. The window gives a view of the neighborhood with Victorian architecture. The restroom attached to room where I stayed in had all the supplies and amenities required, very clean and well-decorated. The bathtub stands on 4 Victorian style legs. Downstairs dining room is again very nicely decorated and clean, with a large Victorian table and silverware. What I found amazing was that you will be seated at the table and served breakfast which contains a variety of items by the awesome hosts who prepared them in the adjoining kitchen. ||The property is at the corner of Mount Royal Terrace and Reservoir Street, the entrance is on Reservoir Street side.|The hosts will send you an email with detailed driving directions after making the reservation. Communication was easy. The hosts, Clelia and Guy, are wonderful and very welcoming! They clearly work very hard because the property so well-maintained and impressively run.||Neighborhood - The neighborhood looks clean, safe, and with lots of trees. If you are not driving/taking cab, the North Avenue Light Rail station from BWI airport is 0.4 miles from the property. I walked that distance, early evening before sunset, and had to walk under Highway 83 after getting off at the station. The walk was totally uneventful but the part under Highway 83 may be stressful because there is no one else around. Once you pass that portion of the road under Highway 83, the area starts to looks fine the closer you get to the entrance of Mount Royal Terrace. |The walk through Mount Royal Terrace to the property is very scenic with lots lot of trees and people jogging,...
