I've been here multiple times before and after the pandemic, and never had an issue. My partner and I, along with a couple of our friends, decided to visit for Memorial Day. We usually stay awhile, follow all the ground rules and leave about 30 minutes before closing to give us some time to pack up and change if needed. During this visit, I called ahead to check if there was any change in business hours from normal because we drive in from over an hour away. According to the phone call and what we were told upon arrival, the park was to close at 8pm. Their website also stated, "The park opens at 8 a.m. and closes 30 minutes before sunset." Diligently, I checked when sunset would be, and it was set at 8:32 PM. So, the website, phone call, and front gate attendant all gave the same time of 8 PM. The day was partly cloudy and there was no inclement weather upon us. Much to my surprise, at 6:58 PM a loud announcement was made saying that the park is now closing. This was very upsetting for myself and my group because we made plans around the hours given to us. Instead, we had to rush to pack and leave before the gates closed or we would be locked in. I highly suggest that the staff be updated each day about closing time, and give the correct time to guests to avoid any other confusion and situations like this. It may also be beneficial to charge a half price fee upon arrival of visitors after mid-day. Be consistent, and follow through with what you promise. Otherwise, guests will feel like they are being hoodwinked.

10$ per person. And closes at 7. So our big family goes and it costs 90$.... then the big area is dirty water with the oils, sunscreen and gunky film all over the top. The back areas with glowing water are nice. You can walk in deeper to the sides and get a secluded spot from the typical river riffraff. But to top off your mediocre visit, the park cop announces 15 minutes before the close of the park, where families are with full day items... and threateningly announce how the park closes, and those still here will get ticketed or locked in.. We pay nearly 100$ for time at an ok park area, to have the last part of our day handled rudely, and damper our stay. My husband comes here out of habit.. I'd rather drive elsewhere as this place used to be a gem... key...

Had such a blast. Plenty of room for people to space out and enjoy the water. Swam with fish and baby turtles. Swung from the ropes into the river. Saw tubers and kayakers enjoying the river as well. Lots of trashcans that weren't full to the brim or buzzing with bees/flies. Very clean and really easy to find a shaded spot to post up for the day. I don't think I'll go to any other river spot after spending the day here! The ONLY drawback would be that there are no indoor restrooms, but it's was not a deal breaker for me as they have outhouses for use. If I didn't live on the outskirts of SA (in the opposite direction) I would be...
