I ate there twice this week. The unsweet iced tea is consistently good. They have hired some young, pretty waitresses but lacking experience. My issue is with food. I ordered a Chuckwagon Breakfast and got a Cowboy Breakfast. The written order was correct but the cook prepared the wrong meal. The waitress didn't catch the mistake either, until I mentioned it. But I didn't want to wait" so I ate the meal, anyway. It was good but not what I asked for. Then I ordered Lemon Meringue pie. The pie was melting on the plate. Again, the waitress should have realized that abd not served it to me.
Today, I ordered a meal that came with a large pancake, 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon. Everything was the way I specified..eggs over easy, bacon extra crispy. But I failed to specify how I wanted my pancake. It arrived burnt on the top abd tasted burnt. I don't like burnt pancakes. Again, the cook and the waitress should have caught that. I was in a hurry, so I ate it anyway.
On both occasions, nobody asked me how was the food. But from past experience at OST as well as other restaurants and businesses in Bandera, whenever I have complained about anything, the workers, even management, become personally offended and even argumentative if you complain, even if they asked for feedback.
There is something about the people from this area wherein they are lacking professionalism and commitment to quality. Good businesses accept constructive criticism and never argue with customers about valid complaints or hold grudges against customers who voice a complaint. Here, the attitude is opposite; the business is right, the customer is always wrong or unreasonable.
Apart from that, OST is one of the most popular...

Read moreHad to come after being recommended by many of the locals. Came for breakfast during the week, so was not crowded at all. Walked in and immediately was greeted and seated. The waitress was extremely friendly, engaging, and had great customer service. We accidentally ordered the wrong dish, but she quickly resolved it even though it was our fault.
With a large party, we ordered many different items to give them a try. Ordered the migas, bunkhouse breakfast, Bandera omelet, Texas French toast, 2 egg breakfast, Belgian waffle, and pancakes. Food came out quickly, but could tell it was freshly made. My favorite was the French Toast as they were thick and nice combination of cinnamon and powdered sugar. Nice potion of six halves. Next favorite was the Belgian Waffle as it was also thick and very flavorful as there's usually not much to a waffle. Everything else was good as well. The Bandera omelet was much larger than expected and full of so many ingredients. The bunkhouse breakfasts were ordered with a variety of sides and all were good. There were nice thick slices of bacon, fresh cut potatoes, and freshly baked biscuits.
This place was highly recommended and did not disappoint. Will have to come back to try some of the lunch and dinner items. Great food, but even more impressive customer service, wish I remember the waitresses name as she did an...
